I am willing to bet that people will be having a similar conversation about EE in 25 years time. They are very similar players imo.

At the time, Carter was considered one of the best hitters in baseball. But that was because Sabermetrics didnt exist. People valued HR and RBI and Carter had lots of those. 9 straight seasons with 98+ RBI. 396 career HR with 6 seasons over 30... these were the reasons people thought he was a good hitter while he was a player.

Since the Hamilton trade to the Rangers, the Rangers have gained like 8 games on the Angels... might pass them tonight. And im sure Hamilton's .1 war hasnt done that much but it is interesting nonetheless.
