I'm starting to think that they shouldn't do anything at the deadline. As mad as I was last year when they did nothing, as they were in the wild card lead and clearly had holes in their lineup, I think there is too much ground to make up in too short a time, and the cost will not be worth the risk. The time to make a deal was a month ago, imho, but I think they should just sit back and end up around .500, and reload on pitching in the offseason.
I don't like writing that very much, as the Jays really need to make a push for the playoffs, but there is no point wasting our farm system for a shot at the wild card, and hopefully we will get a real president who wont' handcuff the organization with stupid limits on free agent contracts. There's lots of good pitching available in free agency, and all it will cost is money, so hopefully they can add a couple of starters. With the addition of one or two players, plus Stroman coming back healthy, 2016 could be a very good year.
