  1. Just me or do we need 1 more reliever? Cecil, Loup, Sanchez, Redmond are locks Delabar imo will rebound Even with 2 uncertainties, that's discomforting
  2. Yeah I'm pretty shocked Colby even got $8M Then again, he has ties to the Astros GM
  3. Yeah I'll admit there was a time I was on the Colby wagon. "But he has all the tools"... Sometimes we don't gove AA enough credit. Kinda like Brian Burke - perhaps it all started going downhill when they MLSE's egos booted him out if town.
  4. Yes G-Snarls, that's his philosophy & pretty good one imo - Otherwise we'd be paying Colby, what, $12-$15 now?
  5. Interesting Hurl; that does put things into context.
  6. Lol goes to show wtf I know about the arbitration process - at $5 he's a steal & even more so at $4.3 Like his attitude though - business is done & move forward No way jsys sign him with so many years left - anything can happen Bw now & then
  7. Watching him pitch last year, my immediate thoughts were something is wrong physically. He says he feels like he did going into the 2013 season & he fully completed his usual weighted ball program. We'll see of course, but I'm expecting Delabar to make the team out of spring training & have a decent year.
  8. time will tell of course but my opinion is he'll be fine and will have that control/velocity that we've come to expect. He admitted in the off-season he had nagging injuries & his off-season regimen wasn't what it should have been. End of the day, it's an opinion, kinda like it was for those, including me, that thought Delabar would be fine entering the 2014 season.
  9. I'm expecting Delabar to make the team & have a solid year. That'll do wonders for the bullpen depth.
  10. amazing thing was Alvarez got by with essentially his fastball early on. And the poise for a young guy was pretty remarkable.
  11. short of a great spring by Sanchez and one where he outperforms Estrada, believe Sanchez will start in the pen Norris may or may not make the team right out but fully expect him to be called up at some point.
  12. I hear Ya Bbbb, but whether or not Rogers will let AA pass tge budget limit is a separate issue. I think reality is (rightly or wrongly) AA has a budget & AA must account for the reality most revenues are in CAD
  13. BBBB, I think the impact on the falling CAD $, as his been discussed on the boards, is the elephant in the room & imo, much more serious than AA/PB are letting on
  14. imo, that's why trading Navarro is important - to open up that DH spot that much more to rest guys, including injury prone Saunders. imo, trading Navarro is vital to the health of this squad for the upcoming season; if they keep him, Gibby is naturally going to want to get his switch hitting bat in the lineup.
  15. ugh, another bad mark on the jays organization...Ed Rogers is an idiot ironically, it'll likely Beeston that cleans this up behind the scenes with mlb/orioles/white sox/rest of baseball say what one will about Beeston (I think it's time he goes), classless way to treat him
  16. while there will likely always be a position we'd complain about, brutal that the 2B discussion has been going on for a few years now. The worst imo was last year when they all but anointed Goins the starting 2B; at least we don't have to deal with that nonsense rhetoric from AA again this off-season.
  17. it's been a really good off-season so far for the jays & AA. if I'm AA, I try to plug 2B and I have no doubt the bullpen situation will take care of itself. after that, it'll be about depth & staying as healthy as possible.
  18. my sense was AA would've kept Happ if the right deal didn't come along but preferred a trade since, imo, he had no intentions of paying Happ what he'll get paid & the # of years assuming he has a decent season again
  19. Wow Martin & Donaldson - winners Who will play LF? Need a power bat now - not Aoki
  20. I like that lineup except for the insertions of Navarro & Travis. Jays need a legit major league 2B. They're already taking a chance on Pompey. Navarro imo is gone, likely for relief help. Assuming the regulars aren't getting a day off from the field, the DH spot will be filled by Valencia/Smoak/Mayberry or whoever so add in a legit 2B, and Kendrick would be awesome but ain't happening, and that lineup imo is decent/balanced.
  21. I disagree. Bautista, Edwin, Martin - they can make a pitcher work. Otherwise, I wouldn't include Reyes, Lawrie, or anyone else in that category really. Oh wait, except Kawasaki whose no longer on the roster. That's one big reason imo the Jays should get Aoki & can provide more balance to the rest of the roster that, as we have seen, likes to swing away.
  22. reds will want too much in return
  23. wonder how much longer rays will be in tampa
  24. Or maybe he's playing poker unless what he means is the holes wb filled via trade
  25. ah, thxs TL
