  1. The Jays clearly need to make whatever decisions need to be made to keep his bat in the lineup. If that means FT DH, that’s what they should do, and now.
  2. I think it’s about time to bring Rowdy back up - has has earned a second shot with the numbers he’s put up since going back to AAA.
  3. This front office have shown time and time and time again that they’re just not that good at making moves that position this team to be better now or in the future. When are we going to start believing it?
  4. So how many more years before we can hold Shatkins accountable for how they’ve managed this team and assets?
  5. Sabathia on the IL. Things are lining up well for a serious bidding war for Stro.
  6. When Vladdy retires with 999 bombs we’ll all remember the 1000th that could’ve been were it not for the rain.
  7. Second hardest hit ball in baseball this season. Stanton hit 120.
  8. Vlad working up a heavy sweat tossing the ball around the horn.
  9. I believe it’s the hamate bone, if broken, which would be most concerning as it takes a while to regain bat speed/power. Hinsky, Overbay, Alford are all cases where it appeared to have a significant impact.
  10. FFS, watch that be a broken hand that’ll cut his season in half. Just as long as it’s not the hamate bone that seems to really impact bat speed and the ability to drive the ball for sometime afterwards.
  11. Wow, tough blow. Gotta feel for the guy. His ACL popped pretty easily, fluke injury.
  12. Anyone hear why Nate Pearson was taken out after 2ip again today?
  13. Don’t f*** up a perfect 4 for 4 Friday, Jays!!
  14. Vlad Jr not in the lineup for Buffalo again tonight?
  15. If Gurriel is sent down, which is looking very likely, how much do you want to bet that Sogard will be recalled over Biggio?
  16. Nah. We still have to see what we have in Allen Hansen first before giving Vlad a shot.
  17. Guerrero Jr isn’t in the lineup today for Buffalo. I wonder if the Jays are being extra cautious or if he’s still not 100%?
  18. Decent. Good command of his repertoire but the stuff is definitely not the Buchholz you remember. Fastball has been topping out at 88-89 from the inning I watched.
  19. Is Galvis the 2019 version of 2018 Solarte?
  20. I see a lot of people on Twitter questioning the 505 for Tellez’s bomb but that did hit off the upper deck facade right?
  21. Man, Teo is up to Ric Flair level of overselling something in his eye having caused the dropped fly ball.
  22. I agree wholeheartedly with this sentiment. As a fan I was quite disappointed and discouraged at the shape Vlad arrived in this year so I can only imagine what the FO thought of their blue chip/generational talent’s commitment to being the best player he can be. Vlad’s weight has taken some of the lustre off of him as the next big thing for me. Unquestionably if he doesn’t take fitness seriously it’ll impact his ability to stay on the field and stay productive.
  23. I can’t recall another team I’ve felt so apathetic about. Until there’s something to cheer for - the arrival of Vlad/Bo/etc., - I can’t foresee spending any time watching this product. It’s absolutely devoid of any entertainment value right now.
  24. Yes, I know it’s not even January yet but as assembled we know that pitching staff is going to be our Achilles heel this year. Feels like Shatkins is punting this season and I really don’t think it was necessary. There have been opportunities to pick up pieces that would not have been in contradiction with the long term plans. A couple arms and a couple of breaks and we could surprise some teams. As it looks now Vlad is coming in, with Bo and Cavan shortly behind, onto a team that will struggle heavily against the heavyweights. They will lose, sometimes bigly, and that’s likely not something they’ve ever encountered.
