  1. I have a hard time believing Lester comes back next season. Hes going to get a ton of money and I don't think the Red Sox are the ones that give it to them. If he doesn't come back then you should deal Lackey to maximize his value. IMO the Red Sox don't compete next year but watch out starting 2016. Another growing year for the prospects next year and they should be able to produce in 2016.
  2. I never understand it..The team trading away prospects should be more concerned because those prospects have 6 years they can kick your team in the ass for. In the case of a reliever its a waste of time to be concerned at all.
  3. I am not sure Rasmus or the Blue Jays would want to do that. Rasmus still probably gets 10-12 million for one year on the open market. I don't think he has too much value right now because his overall numbers are still not very good even though he is heating up.
  4. I think you want to hold on to Rasmus for the rest of the season. He is still going to put up some good offensive numbers for the rest of the season and I can't see a scenario where you will get good value back in a trade. As for a Stroman innings limit I can't see that happeneing either. The guy has some of the smoothest mechanics and unless he is saying he is tiring he is contributing in a playoff race. If they were concerned about innings I doubt Stroman does back out for the 7th last night after already being over 100 pitches.
  5. I wonder what the cost to get Uehera from the Red Sox would be? He would be someone who could really improve this club. Its a shame he didn't waive his NTC before. Now that I think about it how many good players in recent years have used their NTC against Toronto? Kinsler, Uehara and there has to be someone else i am forgetting..
  6. Now that is some serious detective work..
  7. http://mobile.thescore.com/2014/07/baseball-fans-this-might-be-thescores-best-app-update-ever/ Well TheScore made an update to theScoreMobile which includes pitch tracker and pitch usage. Also includes batted ball distance for hits which is pretty cool. They may have gotten rid of some very good writers but theScoreMobile is still the best App for everything Sports imo.
  8. Good job! You should tweet him the screenshot and ask him why/call him out.
  9. Didnt the Jays have a game go to 17 innings against the Angels recently?
  10. What could the As give up that would be an attractive package to Boston?
  11. Did he delete the tweet? Can't seem to find it when I look at his twitter page.
  12. Wow that is a pretty big thing to accuse someone if it is not the truth. I wonder how Hayhurst found out who her sources were? If she told him, that takes pretty big balls for him to say that as it portrays her story negatively and questions her sources.
  13. No one wants to win because they don't want the smaller bonus pool.
  14. I think we all know its going to come down to September. Since the Blue Jays will be playing all of the teams chasing them as well as the team we are chasing anyone can get hot and go on a run and win the division. Games are pretty much worth double when facing those teams. Likewise, a cold streak can lose a ton of ground as well. Good news for Blue Jay fans is that everyone should be healthy come September.
  15. I always thought Hayhurst stretched stories because of how detailed he was on things that happened a very long time ago and to make it sound better for his writing. I still think those sexual acts happened but it wasn't as bad as he made it sound. I don't think the videotape part really happened the way he said it did. I would think that at least one of the victims would speak out about this if it was truly this bad. Still, what he described in his article is awful and should never happen.
  16. Friggen Yankees win 12-11 getting out of bases loaded full count.
  17. Thats not a bad thing. Our starters have been going deeper into games. If the pen is starting to get overused then you call up another pitcher, big deal. Rasmussen was only seeing mop-up duty anyways.
  18. Does it really make a difference of its Sanchez or "x" prospect? If the prospect is better than Sanchez or Norris than that trade would be worse for the Blue Jays. Its not like Sanchez is a known thing either, he could very easily bust. Pitcher that throw that hard usually will face an arm injury down the road.
  19. I don't think Hutchison would be part of the trade. He is like Stroman in that we have already seen he can produce at the MLB level. He is inconsistent but has shown he can be a #3 starter. If I have a choice I include Sancez before any trade involving Hutch.
  20. Wouldn't it be funny if the Jays got Lester tonight or tomorrow and then he started against the Red Sox tomorrow.
  21. He comes off as cheap though. In his books he said he would stay at the shittiest hotels to bank the stipend. He's written a lot of books with the intent to make money, not just for the love of "writing".
  22. You would trade both Norris and Pompey but not Sanchez? Norris and Pompey are ranked ahead of Sanchez by some publications. If I have my choice I would chose Sanchez but that is my opinion.
  23. Stroman Dickey Hutchison Buerhle (could trade him) Free Agent
  24. As with the Giants a few years ago anything can happen in the playoffs. If this team gets hot like in May, I could see them going for in the playoffs. I think you make a move to win the division and that should be the goal. You shouldn't rely on rebuilding a few years from now, especially with pitching as two of the arms you are relying on could have TJS and be gone just like that. If you have a shot you should go for it because you may never be in that position again. That being said I'm not advocating giving up the farm for a rental, just that you shouldn't rely on a young rotation and always build for the future.
