    How good would Brendan McCarthy look in a Jays uniform? Its too bad the Yankees got him for nothing as he would be the perfect guy to trade for right now.

    All good prospects but there is a lot of question marks since no one has really done anything in the MLB and been successful.

    He had a setback. Probably shut him down for a week and have him start over as the likely scenario.

    Wow Big News. Red Sox rotation looks pretty thin next year but they can get some good prospects back with Lester and Lackey being dealt. That can change this offseason with so many prospects they can trade.

    I think around 1.2-1.5 million but i am just guessing. I think Blue Jays games actually get higher ratings during the week than on weekends because of the summer and not many people stay inside to watch a baseball game on a sunny Saturday in July.

    Seems all the sources out there are saying the Blue Jays have no room to add money in trades. How do you not believe that with everything that has happened in this season?

    But say even if the Orioles prospects don't work out and Lester signs somewhere else in the offseason, what do you lose?

    To get the best return? To weaken the Orioles for the next 6 years? Honestly, I am starting to think it is a better idea to trade within the division of you are selling a rental. You weaken your opponent for the future.

    The "experience" part is so overblown in baseball. Matt Moore and Sonny Gray are 2 guys to name a few that had no experience and started playoff games. I can't think of anyone that would rather have Buehrle start over Stroman in a playoff game and he is "reliable" and "experienced". Give me the better pitcher no matter what age and experience.

    I don't think Bartolo Colon is even an improvement that makes it worthwhile to trade for him.

    Yeah fair enough. I think Samardizja has been good but that people probably expected better.

    They ususally average around 500-600k a night. This should be a large enough signal to Rogers that if they spend an extra couple million$ on payroll you could make most of that back just on the TV numbers alone. Can't believe Rogers wouldn't add payroll.

    I don't think the Blue Jays make a significant move if they don't by tomorrow. With the budget restraints August trading is going to be almost impossible. The Blue Jays can't afford to claim any players because in the event the team gave away that claimed player, the Blue Jays would not be able to afford that player. Unless Rogers gives AA the go ahead to add 4 million in August this team isn't making any significant moves.

    Even Samardzija hasn't performed very well. Has a 4.01 FIP and 3.65xFIP in that ballpark.

    So Jason Hammel now has a 9.53 ERA since coming to Oakland. Safe to say the Cubs maximized his value even though we really don't know what he personally was worth.

    Rays lost with Price starting potentially his last game as a Ray.

    Im not sure Elisha Cuthbert would like the sound of that. Tiger Woods wasn't the only athlete who has been a terrible person, as I am sure there have been many famous athletes who have hid it just as much as Tiger once did.

    http://iphone.tsn.ca/tsnpodcasts/Hayhurst.mp3 Dirk went on TSN and talked about the article. I think he makes a very big point at the end of the conversation in which he says this doesn't happen in just minor league baseball but everywhere in life.

    Hopefully he doesn't get off like a lot of athletes seem to do. If he was a good MLB player charges would never happen... The Jameis Winston case at FSU is terrible in every which way.

    If we had watched Escobar play defence? When Yunel was with the Blue Jays he was an amazing defensive SS. All metrics would suggest that he declined tremendously to be terrible this season.

    What has happened to Yunel Escobar's defence this season? After being above average for the past few seasons he has been just awful this year. Both UZR and DRS have him being around 20 runs below average this season. Add this to his on erratic field behavior and that contract extension looks like a sunk cost. Edit: Didn't realize he was only making 5 million next year and 7 the year after. Such a team friendly deal has a hard time being too much of a loss. Still does not look like a good situation though.

    Be thankful Greg Zaun has no control over the Blue Jays Franchise. Said he would trade Stroman for Jon Lester if Jon Lester signed a 1 year extension. First of all there is no chance Lester would agree to an extension of 1-3 years... Then he proceeded to say he would give them the choice of Stroman or Sanchez making them sound equally as valuable which is clearly not the case. I think Stroman would be the guy that you would not want to face in your division for the next 6 years as he is a guy that is going to have that extra motivation if that ever happened. Thankfully the Front Office isn't this stupid...
