I would love to have another Buehrle on a rookie salary but Nolin isn't that. I remember his fastball being pretty flat with not much movement. I just don't think his stuff plays at all in the AL East.
If the Blue Jays win 2 of 3 against the Orioles no one will even remeber this series. Baseball season is so long there probably has been like 10 times this year where fans thought the season was done, only for the blue jays to go on a bit of a run and be right back in it.
Blue Jays have some really good depth at SS in the minors. I think we all know Barreto moves to 2B/CF but there is still Lugo, Urena, Guidino who I hear all have a decent shot at sticking at SS. Hopefully 1 of those 3 can pan out.
One thing that stand out to me about Pentecost is the lack of walks. Only 2 walks this year and even in college he had a low walk rate. Now it could be the case of him being such a good hitter that he makes contact so much that he hasn't really learned to lay off pitches. Definitely something to keep an eye on.
I don't think its a given at all. Hitters take longer to develop especially since he's a switch hitter. Most prospects will spend the majority of a year in AA.
