  1. So? First meaningful game in August in like 20 years +Lawrie's return + tshirt giveaway should be over 40,000. If I was anywhere close to Toronto Id be at this game.
  2. Crowd looks pretty disappointing for how big of a game this is.
  3. The Orioles have such a good defence. Hardy and Machado get to pretty much everything hit to the left side.
  4. The thing I hate about MLB is that they should make a decision the day after it happens. Guys should be punished when the act is committed and not a week after the fact. And if an appeal happens you can wait another week for a ruling. Quite annoying.
  5. I think based on today's lineup Goins is sent down. Goins has good D but since he's been back up he still hasn't even hit well. I mean his BA is the same as his OBP and he doesn't hit for any power so I'm sure this decision should be pretty easy. Edit: just looked up the numbers over the last week and both Kawasaki and Goins haven't hit at all. Goins .182/.182/.182 Kawasaki .091/.091/.091
  6. How did Gibson not get suspended?
  7. Sean Reid Foley had probably his best outing as a pro-4IP 2H 0BB 6SO
  8. I forgot his name but some poster was really stuck up on him being "hit hard" and didn't pass his eye test. Well so far he has been excellent and it shows what good GB numbers will do paired with good K numbers and not walking guys.
  9. So Brendan McCarthy now has a 2.08 ERA/2.84xFIP in his 5 starts since coming to New York. This is one move they could and should have made but of course we had "no money"
  10. I like how they say Lind could come back in 2-3 weeks. Looks like it will be right around 4-6 weeks like we all thought in the beginning. Its obviously better than the 6-8 weeks the first doctor said but I feel like they said 2-3 weeks just to make the fans feel better.
  11. Yeah I'm not ruling anything out but I am just not his biggest fan. Seemed like he carved up the competition as he was older for the lower levels and once he hit AAA his Ks are down and his walks are up a significant margin. Just have to wait and see.
  12. Can anyone post this? Apparently there is something about Osuna in it. http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=24336
  13. would of thought the most hated in Ontario was Red sox. Actually a lot of states I was suprised at. Lol to the Padres being the most hated in the NWT
  14. Yeah RJ is a good one. I wouldn't say Matt Harvey had mediocre numbers though. He still struck out a ton of guys and his ERA/FIP/SIERA were all all in the low 3s.
  15. You just said"Minor league numbers mean nothing". That is probably the dumbest statement I've ever heard. Please give me a list of 10 guys who had mediocre minor league numbers and had excellent MLB careers. Btw Sanchez is pitching as a reliever in the MLB so take that with a grain of salt.
  16. Walks have been pretty high as well. He also gives up a lot of flyballs and that wont work too well at RC.
  17. I am a huge believer in Bogaerts and think he will become a very good player. Work ethic is coming to the ballpark early, working to improve your game whenever you can, training in the offseason. Heart I think is an overrated term but probably means diving for balls, having "clutch" hits. I think the media gives players that term more than anyone.
  18. There is a difference between heart and work ethic. If you have a bad work ethic you will obviously be less successful but you need to have talent to succeed. He hasn't had the greatest defensive season but his reports in the minors all thought he was a capable SS.
  19. Yeah I wasn't basing my opinion just on 1 inning of the MLB. His AAA numbers in his career have been underwhelming and he is getting to be pretty old for a prospect.
  20. The "heart" talk of a baseball player is such BS. He has such great talent for a SS and is pretty patient at the plate. He is just adjusting to the MLB. He may not be a superstar but he should become a 4 WAR SS and def not "a guy"
  21. Has Bucholz fallen down a cliff or what. He looks just awful and reminds me of the career path of Ricky Romero
