  1. Probably shouldn't of let him throw 50 pitched early on in the season and send him to Buffalo the next day.
  2. I would definitely not trade Dickey for the reasons you mentioned. I think you should move Buehrle though and take the 12-15 million in savings. Although he has been very consistent in his career I believe he's declining and next season won't look pretty. His BB, K and GB numbers this year have take a turn from his career and the velocity decline won't help. I think you move him now and get the value while you can. Since we have depth in the rotation I think we can afford to lose him.
  3. The NFL still has tons of guys test positive for banned substances. Its weird how the culture is different as in MLB you are frowned upon for the rest of your career while in the NFL its a "okay lets get you back in 4 games and all is forgotten".
  4. The velocity difference allows hitters to just look fastball and then react to the curveball. I think most hitters go up looking fastball and they just take the curveball hoping its out of the zone. I think his curveball doesn't have that late hard break that a swing and miss pitch has. It has great movement but it already is moving when it comes out of his hand and kind of just floats in there. Swing and miss curveballs have that late hard break which Sanchez doesn't have.
  5. I don't think you pick up Happ's option to have him in long relief. 6.7 Million in the pen is a waste of money. You pick up the option to have him as a #5 or trade him (my preference). I agree with keeping Dickey. 12 Million is a great contract for the value he provides and there is no long term risk you would have with picking up a similar starter. Im in favour of trading Buehrle. I think you could trade him and only have to kick in less than 5 million and still get a decent prospect back.
  6. http://thebiglead.com/2014/08/07/lebron-james-is-skinny-heres-an-important-photographic-comparison/ I know this is going to sound pretty far-fetched, but does anyone think Lebron took steroids? He has really slimmed down and now that Carmelo has as well maybe the NBA is having stronger testing so players have gone off PEDs and that is why a lot of these guys are losing weight.
  7. Who's the starting pitcher? Obviously Barreto is a guy to keep an eye on both offensively and defensively. Shane you couldn't of seen Sunday's game with Borucki and Smoral.
  8. Hopefully its another hot day and the ball is carrying a lot.
  9. I hate the he's stuggled against them in his career BS. The lineup he faced 2 years ago is completely different than the lineup who faced him today. Bautista and Rasmus were probably the only players that were with the Jays back then.
  10. I think this is why run differential can be a bit misleading. There's been 5 or 6 runs that would not have happened if the Blue Jays had a different set of circumstances going into this game. Mills is useless and you can't fault the Blue Jays pitching staff for the numbers he puts up.
  11. http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=4420&position=P Have a laugh guys.
  12. Well if Mcgowan gets into this game at least we can't use him for tomorrow.
  13. This. No one expected us to win so you shouldn't be mad about Mills being terrible as it doesn't matter.
  14. I don't think you could say he pitched bad tonight though. He only gave up a couple hard hit balls. His defence was awful including Navarro who turned some of his strikes into balls. Even the Cano HR looked like a flyball that carried a ton.
  15. Man Mills is a BP machine. Still you gotta let him pitch. Use Tolleson if you have to for the 8th.
  16. on pace for 2.5 WAR and including this game still has a FIP of under 4. He's been a pretty good starter this season, you can't deny that.
  17. He's been inconsistent but has still put up great numbers. Hutchison would be a good number 3/4 on a contending team.
  18. Just call it a night and leave mills out there for the entire game. No point in using anyone else in a game youve already lost with King Felix pitching. Don't know why anyone is upset, the Mariners were massive favourites in this game.
  19. He has not been a gas can at all. Yeah he's been inconsistent but he is still a top 3 pitcher on the staff. Besides the double earlier in the game and the HR there weren't any hard hits. Use the term gas can for a guy like Brad Mills.
  20. Are you stupid? So many bloops and plays that should have been made. An average RF makes that flyball out and if Navarro was a second quicker the inning would have been over.
