  1. Atkins f***ed up by promoting Alford too early.
  2. Osuna was nasty tonight even though it looked like his velo was a little down. That slider was almost looked like a curve it had so much downward movement and that cutter to Seimen.. nasty
  3. Why do players who are worth $30-50 Million per year make only 500K on rookie contracts? That's why I hate when people complain about a player not being worth the $ late in their career. Well yeah they might not be worth $30 Million but they were putting up 5 WAR and got paid nothing. And if the player wasn't a 1st round pick he hasn't made close to what they were worth.
  4. This guy is the biggest junkballer in the game my goodness.
  5. I'd say its more because you got used to the last 2 years of the team being a damn treat to watch each and every single day. The mid to late 2000s were pretty bad. This year you still have some star talent although they just aren't playing well.
  6. Might want to hit the Enter button every now and then.
  7. Yeah I had him on the short list the last few picks but like you said having a player that young is tough.. Also realized almost all of my prospects taken in this draft are OFers.
  8. Yeah safe to say not looking to trade Pitching anymore. f***in Parra and Melky went down too.
  9. Was a pipe dream thinking he would be the return in a Donaldson deal.
  10. Give me a few min. I'll clear my PMs too.
  11. Wiling to trade Erod or even Strasburg if I can get a big Bat in return.
  12. If he was a pitcher I'd agree but as a bat you'll always have more value the longer the control. If teams evaluate him as a 5 Win player then you get say 7 WAR if he was traded this deadline with about $30M remaining on the deal. Say he comes out and has a 150wRC+ next year well at the deadline he's only going to have 2-3 Wins projected. Teams just don't pay a s*** ton for rental bats the way they do rental pitchers given the effect one can have on a single game in the playoffs.
  13. But then you are getting 50 Cents on the Dollar since he's a rental bat. Also who knows Machado might be on the market then too just making things worse. Given the 3B landscape you probably aren't getting what you would want back for Donaldson at any time.
  14. Thank god the the idiots at Rogers didn't end up hiring the guy. The Franchise would be doomed.
  15. Its interesting because Pillar is up to 11 DRS on the year which is second among CF in all of baseball. His defense the first couple of months he looked a little slower but he's been really good lately. Now his UZR paints him more as being closer to average so that's why his WAR total isn't as high.
  16. The Jays system is in a lot better shape than the Phillies was.
  17. Stroman and Osuna likely get those types of returns. It is quite comical how bad everyone has been, even Sanchez doesn't really have much trade value ATM given the blister issue.
  18. Well the rationale is would you rather have a team that is better in 2020-2024 than a 50 % chance at the 2nd Wildcard spot next year. Even though Donaldson isn't having a good year teams will give up more for him at the deadline then they will in the offseason. Biggest hurdle would be the $ involved. Even if he turns back to a 5 Win player is Martin, Morales and Pillar going to get any better while another year older? They still need 2 OFers, 2 SP and perhaps a 2nd baseman. There is a lot of work to be done this offseason.
  19. And the reality is even if you try to compete next year its likely for a Wildcard. The Red Sox and Yankees are 90 win teams and unless the Jays make some crazy signings or trades they are going in with a mid 80 win team with all those guys back.
  20. Problem with that is if those guys under perform you are aren't getting much back. We saw with Martinez that even a great player who is a rental isn't going to return much so you run the risk of the team falling again and then you've lost a chance to capitalize and get good value back. Then you're going to have to rebuild anyway so you may as well get some more blue chip prospects that will come be coming into the majors at the same time as Vlad, Bo etc..
  21. Except he doesn't have speed which is zeke's only plus tool lol.
