  1. That question is pretty easy to answer even if you don't have PR training. Something along the lines of "Obviously the trades didn't work out the way we had hoped, but the players that have come in have been good contributors and have performed well. We are disappointed with the results from the team overall but we firmly believe those trades were made for a reason and we are committed to buliding a team..etc.
  2. Well I'm happy they didn't sign McCann with that contract. Even though he is a good framer you can get equal value by signing someone much cheaper. I really want Asdubal Cabrera but I have no idea how much he is going to cost. This offseason is going to be pretty interesting to say the least, with so many changes needed.
  3. I hate all the talk making it sound like Bautista is a butcher in the OF. His range his declining but he still has produced an above average UZR in RF the last 3 years. Its not his fault he was thrown into CF which made his defence look a lot worse than it is. Seems like people look at the DEF value on Fangraphs which includes positional adjustment and automatically thinks he sucks in the OF, which is clearly not the case. He's not the GG Buck and Pat always say he is but he is far from needing to be moved off the position.. Edit: Just so people can see the evidence: http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=1887&position=3B/OF
  4. Both of them asked some good questions that seemed to get AA to open up a little bit (still dances around questions but not as much as usual). Tim & Sid are so much better at interviewing guests than Bobcat. I hate how PTS gets all the guests only to hear s***** questions and get nothing from the interview.
  5. It to me sounds like they will come up with a "value" and won't budge on that value of free agents. Sometimes you may have to overpay a little bit to get the player you wan't. That being said this interview left me feeling a bit better than yesterday's media scrum. I still hate the talk about relievers being valued so higher. If you upgrade 2B and get a good LF the reliever performance will be better just because the defence will be better.
  6. One of the most interesting things he said was that last year Cano's agent called him and were willing to do a 5 year deal at a much higher AAV than what he ultimately got but that it wouldn't of made sense at that high a number. Also talked about the 5 year deal saying its not a be all end all. That he would take a player at 6/105 over 5/100, but I think this is fairly obvious.
  7. Here is a look at the new studio for Sportsnet. Pretty impressive. http://www.sportsnet.ca/sportsnet-unveils-state-of-the-art-multi-million-dollar-hockey-studio-with-11x38ft-ultra-high-definition-monitor/
  8. So does Felix win the CY Young for even the Saber community? Had the same amount of innings as Kluber and had a less xFIP. If you go by RA9 WAR he was also a half win better.
  9. Their offensive line has been really good. Most QBs when they have time to throw have a great running game will put up good numbers. Look at what Andrew Luck has done this year with an improved offensive line.
  10. Yeah I was going to say how many MLB players a draft produces but that doesn't tell you anything since one elite player is better than 20 below avg mlb players. There's really no definitive answer as development is just as big a reason for success opposed to the actual draft.
  11. I really doubt it. Braley would probably give away the team since they are just losing him money every year. MLSE won't buy the Argos unless it came with an NFL franchise. MLSE won't buy a team unless they see a reasonable chance to make money, which the Argos are not doing.
  12. Thats the thing though..No reasonable businessman or business is going to buy that team even for a penny because the stadium situation is so cloudy and even if they do get a stadium they "might" break even. Way too risky given the circumstances.
  13. Why are you still on this forum.
  14. Whats the number of WAR produced for a certain draft to be deemed sucessful?
  15. MLSE probably wouldn't buy the Argos for literally 50 cents. The Argos lose money every year and have a terrible situation with no stadium. No one is going to pay money for that.
  16. Yeah that makes sense. Random question but since I joined the league after the prospects were drafted I don't know the answer to this. How do the farm teams work in relation to when prospects get called up? Can we move them up and down from the farm team to our actual team week to week?
  17. Oh thats perfect then.
  18. Its the same odds but you have a lottery for the first 3 picks instead of just the first pick. That way if you finish last you could theoretically fall to number 4. As well all the teams who don't make the playoffs still will have a chance of getting the first pick, all be it a small one.
  19. Nice pick lol. Won outright.
  20. He's looked pretty good, not really sure why they would start Cassel instead of him. Still a joke of a franchise.
  21. Anyone start Cordelle Patterson and regret it today?
  22. Even with an all dirt infield can't the Argos still play on it? Oakland does this and Miami used to when they played at the NFL stadium.
  23. Well this loss could give us 2 extra spots in the draft at least.
