  1. Well they have one of the best farm systems and a bunch MLB position players with value. Pitching won't be hard to find if they offer up some of these guys. Red Sox look like they will have one of the best teams heading into the season.
  2. I think your right in that Lind never had an issue with any of the other players but more so the coaching staff/management. He also has a history of injuries which I think the Jays took into consideration. I don't think him being lazy would do anything to Lawrie. Lawrie is pretty damn motivated and no one is going to change that. I still would have kept Lind though.
  3. Wilner comes onto the radio talking about the deal saying Hanley is playing SS. Guy is clueless as f***.
  4. Vasquez seems like a much better catcher. He is Sal Perez defensively and a great receiver. He can't hit much but he doesn't have to.
  5. Need to find Jamie and Zaun at the bar and get a drunk conversation to find out that one. I am sure there are reasons.
  6. There's probably "star" players who are much worse in the clubhouse than Lind and Dickey.
  7. I think he's done a sports commentator. He wouldn't be going to school if he could of had a job in that industry I would like to think. Personally I thought he wasn't bad with his role on Fan590 and it was refreshing to hear someone call out mistakes.
  8. lets hope so. Red Sox could have a really good team next year. Their lineup is really good and they have the prospects to move for pitching. Edit: As I wrote this it apparently is 4/88 with a vesting 22M option.
  9. Dirk Hayhurts is a pretty big outcast himself. Seems like no one in the media likes him and he has to write these blog entries to even be heard now. He always seems to try to interact with people in the baseball world on Twitter only to never get a response. He's right about the Dickey thing but didn't have to write a whole bunch of crap to say the point.
  10. I don't think he would come to Toronto to catch. He's had concussion issues and like you said isn't a good catcher. His bat could play vs RHP at 1B even though he isn't a traditional 1B. My issue is Lind is a lot better than him so the trade for Estrada was pointless even if Lind isn't the greatest clubhouse guy.
  11. Its definitely less than I expected and Martin got more than I expected but all I'm saying is I would rather have Martin. Martin is barely a year older and I think Martin will age better than Hanley.
  12. How come you just joined the board?
  13. I still would rather have Martin at the same money.
  14. Still need pitchers.
  15. Thats my thought as well. I think we've seen the end of the Prince Fielder contract that runs in to the late 30s.
  16. He definetely wouldn't be my choice for backup C. Tons of injury concerns there and he is a pretty crappy catcher.
  17. Sounds like he could be going to LF. Anyone can play LF in Fenway it seems but even then it will be interesting.
  18. Sounds like the deal is all but done. Deal is around 5/90 according to Ken R. Price seems lower than I initially thought but I still wouldn't of done it I don't think.
  19. 5/90 for Hanley in Boston according to Kenny R.
  20. He is pretty bad behind the plate but is a good hitter vs RHP. Not sure why we traded Lind as Lind is much better at filling that role than Jaso.
  21. I was just wondering if you were. I don't think you can really predict framing 4-5 years down the line because every year umpires are seeming to get more aware of it which will skew the numbers.
  22. I wasn't trying to compare the 2 but rather talk about Martin's decline. History has shown catcher's offence can decline rather quickly but if anyone is going to break the trend I think Martin has a good shot because of how serious he trains.
  23. Not including Framing? I think his framing will regress a bit as the seasons move on anyways as it has the last 3 seasons. Umpires will become more and more aware of it and start to call the strikezone better.
  24. I don't think anyone expects Martin to be very good in the last couple years of his deal. The one thing he has going for him is that pitch framing doesn't really decline and he will still be decent defensively. And for a guy who seems to really understand bio analytics if there is a case for a guy to age gracefully it is probably him. As for your previous point the Red Sox could very easily get all 3, but it would be a huge cost. Any team could get all 3 if they overpay enough but teams know that it would kill the team's payroll.
  25. So that catch by Odell Beckham was disgusting. Probably the best ever.
