  1. Lowry with an unnecessary off balance fadeaway..Damn JV looks hurt.
  2. I know the NETS are pure garbage but the Raps play and effort looks really good so far. Just have that jump they have been lacking recently.
  3. This is the Derozan I like. Attacking the rim and creating easy shots for other players and not settling for jumpers.
  4. So annoying when Raptors media refers to him as "their allstar". Can't count how many times I hear "Toronto is playing really well and they are doing this without their allstar" when they were playing really well a month and a half ago.
  5. This should never be the case and I hate it when its mentioned. Its been clear its a popularity contest and that deserving players get snubbed year after year. Also a massive part of it is what position you play and what conference you play in.
  6. Mike posted the write up in the page before. Funny thing is he does say Castro is probably going to be a reliever long term. Curious to what he thinks of DSJ as there was no mention of him at all.
  7. Unless they have bonuses in their contracts I don't get why players get so upset over not getting into a fancy exhibition game. I don't think anyone anymore actually puts relevance into how good of a player you are because of how many ASG you go to.
  8. So I come home and read through this entire thread. It goes from the Belisario signing/to the Santiago signing to why Wilner is a moron. Then we go to drugs and why people who smoke weed are usually skinny/gay. Then it goes into other drugs including alcohol and coke, which then turns into a war against soft drinks and then finally we get into food habits. Yup, sounds like a BJMS thread alright.
  9. the sky is blue.
  10. Its funny because my friends are the same way. Most of them were all great athletes and really good at sports growing up but don't know jack s*** about analytics/advanced stats. I usually don't even bother trying to sway them anymore and just go with the flow and enjoy the games when I'm around them.
  11. meh he still isn't a good player and never has been in his career.
  12. To get him on a minor league deal would be a fantastic signing. Zero risk and should be able to make the team and contribute.
  13. Funny thing is coming up through the system all the scouts were saying his slider was below average and the chanegup was plus. Now it seems completely reversed with the slider being the plus pitch and changeup being below average.
  14. Well look how Ubaldo Jiminez turned out last year. Everyone was pointing to his 2nd half in 2013 and it was probably more about the teams he faced than anything else.
  15. Shouldn't complicate anything. The guy sucks. He got hot for the beginning of the season and rode that out the entire year. He can't hit at ALL vs RHP and while he was decent vs LHP I don't think its sustainable. Not to mention he is a bad base runner and his fielding is average at the very best as well.
  16. Keith Law has gone really downhill the last few years. I remember his list used to be one of the ones I would check first now he's below Baseball America, Prospectus, Kiley McDaniel etc..
  17. Your were probably on TV then. They showed his fam like every TV timeout.
  18. Blowing 20 million/year on a pitcher who is probably only a couple wins at best better than Norris/Estrada/Sanchez is not the way I would go. The rest of the available money needs to go to 2nd base/bullpen/another starter/OF depth.
  19. His ERA was awful last year but it looks like he just had an unlucky year. Doesn't miss too many bats but the GB numbers look pretty good. Also has been durable the last few years FWIW. It'd be a decent pickup for a couple million. However the one thing is I can't stand looking at him. Guy has to be one of the most ugly players in MLB. Those goggles..
  20. Right now I'd say the division looks like this: Tier 1-BOS Tier 1B-TOR Tier 3 NYY, TB Baltimore
  21. I don't think anyone hates on Rogers because of the overall payroll number. Its more because they limit the spending when 5-10 million could make this team a whole lot better. Rogers didn't add any money last year when they could have used it to acquire a player that would of made a difference and quite possibly made the owners a whole lot more money. Also Rogers is a massive company so an extra 5-10 million is probably not a huge mountain to climb. Another thing I can't stand is the they have a "top 10 payroll" BS. This market is one of the largest in all of baseball and when you consider Rogers owns the TV deal and Stadium the Blue Jays payroll is most likely smaller than it should be relative to the revenue they bring in. When Scott Boras is saying the Jays should spend in the top 5 he is right even if he says it only because it would make him more $.
  22. 22 point game with 5 min left but nope gotta leave Lowry in...
  23. Why bring Lowry back in the game on a b2b? Let him rest and if the lead goes down then bring him back..These are the prime opportunities to rest him.
  24. Raps have done a great job of making boogie turn the ball over.
  25. Love when the team goes 2 for1, hate it when almost every time they are taking an awful shot. That Lowry stepback was just dumb.
