  1. Exactly my point. He has elite skills as he doesn't strike out much. If his overall swing was better he would be a 30 HR guy because he has the raw power. From what I've read his arms are very stiff and he really struggles with pitches on the inner half of the plate. He also hit 57% Groundballs last year which is not ideal by any means.
  2. Reason he will get so much money is because of his age mostly. I mean to put it into perspective he is 7 months younger than Kevin Pillar who just had his first season with Toronto.
  3. crazy thing about Heyward is he has realistic potential to be a 140-150 wRC+ bat if he didn't have such a terrible swing. Tough to see him overhauling his swing at this point in his career though. Maybe if he comes to the Jays JD and CC can loan him Tewksberry.
  4. I had no idea he was that big. He doesn't look out of shape or anything and it seems a lot of his weight is muscle in his legs. I would think defense drops with age no matter what. Heyward is a pretty good hitter so its not like he's Michael Bourn and all of his value is in his legs.
  5. To be fair he's also hurt. And the rest of his team sucks.
  6. Yeah thats my take as well. He still can't dribble the ball. Although I'll take Ross at that contract if it means Derozan is gone.
  7. Woj Bomb. T ross 3 years 33 million. Seems like an overpayment
  8. holy s*** that was a terrible drop.
  9. Funny because after the first 3 Quarters I was telling myself this was one of the most boring football games I've watched.
  10. Fack, if Vontae caught that ball...
  11. Shopping Mike Condon of the Habs if anyone is interested in Goalies.
  12. Ian Kennedy might be a decent pickup depending on the cost. He was pretty good the last 2 years.
  13. He definitely doesn't seem as well spoken as AA or Shapiro which I think is pretty important in the GM role. Maybe its just nerves from being on camera, who knows.
  14. Alvarez is just an expensive Aaron Sanchez with injury concerns.
  15. What team is going to give that up that needs a DH and who EE will accept a trade to?
  16. Saunders instead of Revere makes the lineup better. Also probably makes the defense better too.
  17. Yeah they did? People cringed lol
  18. Listening to Lacava's interview it doesn't sound like EE or Bautista would be moved.
  19. Have to think that Canada would get over 10 million in TV ratings if the Jays were in an elimination WS game. Thats pretty crazy that the US only draws those numbers from a 330 million person country.
  20. really sounds like he's fine being the AGM once the real GM is hired.
  21. Sounds like Lacava has been pretty much told he won't be seriously considered for the permanent GM role and that he will still be AGM with the Jays after a new GM is hired. Also sounds like that is 100% fine with him and he wants to be with the Blue Jays no matter what role he is in.
  22. Said he wants to have the absolute best ST facility as possible and he knows what it can do for a franchise. This is great to hear and one of the advantages to having an actual baseball person as President.
  23. some actual good questions too.
  24. Well sure no one knows, that is why it is called a bet lol. I just think he's better than a 4 WAR player which would also change his contract evaluation.
  25. Colorado probably doesn't even know what WAR is. They barely use analytics according to ESPN.
