  1. He had to because he sure as hell couldn't stand on his left leg leaving the game...
  2. Sens actually played well and deserved to win that game. If it makes you feel better it can take 95 Min to drive 3 KM in Toronto and you're paying $40 for parking and $25 for a beer. True story I got a bag of skittles at a Raptors game this year and it was $13...
  3. Downtown Toronto is just all immigrants riding bicycles for Uber Eats now.
  4. Cyburg I think it was. Maybe he wasn't that young but just felt that way lol. ECJF that's another fun one, I think he left when I was still posting regularly. Dogg I remember and I assume its just frenchsoup now? Seems like same person lol.
  5. lol fatcow now that's a name I haven't heard in forever...
  6. Ah I think it was Dinger who I meant instead of you, as yeah I've seen your recent posts. Cyburg or something I think was the guy I was thinking of? Tons more I would remember if I saw the names.. so if reading this and I didn't include don't be offended lol.
  7. Funny how Rahm might very well get more than what Ohtani will end up getting plus the potential for more from the Majors winnings. I still won't watch LIV though, the production of it is just straight garbage. A big loss for the PGA tour though I don't think him alone really will cause people not to watch. At the end of the day there are so many great golfers still on the PGA tour so each week still is competitive. If a young guy like Aberg goes out and wins 3 out of 10 events he can be marketed as the next big thing and you have your "new Rahm"
  8. What even happened to all the OG 2012-2015 ERA posters? I've only recently come back since around 2018ish and likely won't post too much in future since life gets in the way but I remember there was guys like KING ABOM Boxcar Johnny Havok There was some kid who's name escapes me but he seemed super smart and was in a bunch of the fantasy leagues. I see BTS, Term and Spanky plus a few others still here but always wondered how people leave lol.
  9. Yankees, Giants, Cubs and Blue Jays all could use a 3B.
  10. This quote to me is just him/agents saying I want more money from the Dodgers and I'll go there lol. Sources add, 'He needs a little more convincing for what many believe to be the inevitable of him joining the Dodgers, it is definitely not a guarantee.' Ohtani is hoping to make his decision before Christmas time and sources reiterate, 'it is really looking like Toronto will be the pick. It is going to take a tremendous offer and situation from another team for him not to choose Toronto.'
  11. Well considering how secretive CAA has been with Ohtani and his medical info no one really knows anything about the injury. They didn't even say it was TJS from what I read?
  12. You would hope but he had -13 OAA last year alone and eye test he looked awful too. -4 in each of the previous years. If Horowitz sees any meaningful time with the club this year something went drastically wrong. You don't sign Ohtani and then fill out the roster with crap.
  13. Really curious what would happen if Ohtani signs a deal and then fails the physical or the team sees something in his arm where they don't want to commit the same number. His agency is already so secretive about the elbow injury he had.
  14. I'd be shocked if he doesn't get at least 100M. Boras is his agent after all.
  15. Yeah I figured the first half of the season he wouldn't be able to pay but the second half when he's 9 months removed from surgery maybe there would be the chance. Probably not worth the risk of him getting hurt more for an extra win or whatever the upgrade on defense would be.
  16. Haven't really seen or heard it anywhere but given Ohtani isn't going to pitch at all this year any chance he would play 1st base? The guy is a freak athlete and pretty tall so you think he would be a pretty decent defender there. I know Vladdy plays first as well but he was god awful defensively last year and a good defense there would be an upgrade.
  17. He was tied for 6th as well. Although Moreno would be the more valuable asset being younger with 2 extra years of control but it is what it is.. So far the Dbacks have gotten the better side of the trade, is it the end of the world? No.. Lots of time left and even then its just one trade, not like NBA where it can make or break a franchise.
  18. Yeah I think the hope would be that "framing" is a more teachable aspect and it would be easier to improve there as we have seen with catchers in the past. Varsho actually has a ton of potential with the bat given his plus bat speed. I think that is why he's really frustrating for fans to watch as he has all the tools to be an incredible player, but then you watch the games and he's whiffing on fastballs at his eyes. I'm not a scout by any means but it looks like he could improve a lot with a mechanical change to his swing.
  19. Projected to be tied for 6th among Catchers for WAR next year by Steamer going into his age 24 season. I wouldn't call that middle of the pack lol. Ironically Kirk tied for same WAR. I think both are good players but not really sure why people are hating on Moreno.
  20. Well to be fair that’s quite a bit better when you compare the average catcher offence vs a CF offence. Finding a catcher that can hit and be good defensively is extremely difficult.
  21. Lol Rogers bought the stadium for 25M when it cost taxpayers 570 Million. I'm sure Rogers can do just fine without.
  22. Wonder if Ohtani's agent being based in LA is a big consideration for him considering how much his agent wants to control everything.
  23. It feels like Shapiro gets lumped into the player personnel side of it quite a bit but I'm not so sure he's even much involved. I'm sure hes front and centre for an Ohtani pitch but as far as sitting around a table talking about trades I doubt he's even in the room given how many responsibilities he would have. As president he's done a great job. Ed Rogers seems like a terrible meddling owner (look at the rift he had with Masai and the Raptors) so even maintaining a good relationship and convincing him to put $ into the renovations and payroll is a huge plus. He's given players tons of resources to be the best they possibly could be. Now you could argue the Blue Jays might not have the best coaches at the development level and/or scouting staff given the farm system is weaker than you would think given all these resources available and that would fall on him as the leader. Given the Blue Jays were rumoured to want Kenny Williams and Dan Duquette as presidents before Shapiro came aboard as Jays fans we got incredibly lucky. I also don't have any confidence Ed Rogers would bring in a better executive than Shapiro. Atkins on the other hand, I've been vocal in saying I think he could have done better but Shapiro had done a fantastic job.
  24. Stanton and Rodon look like they can be absolute nothings from here on out, I'd much rather have Springer than that lol. And Gauseman with 3 years left at around 20AAV is much better than Cole with 5/36 AAV.
  25. I think you are comparing Grisham in 5 years to Varsho's 4, because in the last 4 seasons the totals are: Varsho 1603 PA Grisham 1858 PA Projected 2024 wRC+ by Steamer Varsho 106 Grisham 103 Varsho is better, but not by much. And considering one is rumoured to be a throw in to a Soto deal and the other was the return of a top catching prospect its a bit depressing as a Jays fan.
