  1. So is Donaldson but who cares? Everyone just wants the team to win. People will be crying about wanting Bautista back next year when the offence is crap.
  2. https://vid.me/K9WG
  3. Thats a f***ing terrible strategy. Thats how you get in these 2 strke counts then you have to protect the plate which either results in a strikeout or weak contact. I want my hitters swinging at the first good pitch they see because that can be a run right there, which obviously are difficult to come by.
  4. When are people going to understand hitting homeruns in the playoffs is how you win games? 3 of Cleveland's 4 runs this series have came on Homers. The Cubs won last night because of a big grand slam...
  5. Hitters use that as a timing mechanism. JD does the same thing. If you watch the clip as he prepares for his load the hands stop, so I wouldn't be concerned. I'm actually really impressed with that swing.
  6. Regardless how the next week plays out, this season was a tremendous success. People don't realize how difficult it is to get to the ALCS, let alone 2 years in a row.
  7. Meh I think he's at his best when he's pulling fastballs, thats his game. That oppo field approach he had at the beginning of the season just made him lose all his power and the strikeouts never really went away
  8. Well the reason is baseball. This is how the game is sometimes.
  9. A lot of the Toronto favourable calls happened in 2-0 3-1 counts which the pitcher usually gets the call anyway. The Cleveland pitchers got calls on the first pitch or strike 3 in the case of Bautista and Martin. IT absolutely influenced the game. Now I don't think Diaz was trying to favour Clevleand, but rather he just isn't a good umpire.
  10. Blue Jays are a top 5 Market in MLB. NYY, BOS, CHC and LAD are the only franchises you could make an argument to be ahead of Toronto. In terms of market size its likely top 3 if not higher.
  11. Because they're value is worth more than $20 million/year. At least for next year it is.
  12. Obviously players want to get a lot of money but they aren't going to be choosing a team based on like 5 Million if they are already getting over $100 Million.
  13. What a terrible article. Simmons is garbage.
  14. I was thinking that it seemed weird how Stroman and Sanchez didn't seem to be best buds anymore so maybe something happened between Sanchez and Donaldson. But after they won there were pictures with each other so maybe its all settled like you said if they win no one cares.
  15. It'd be pretty cool to get an autograph although I'm sure players don't sign at the hotel much. Also I hate asking players for autographs if they aren't at the stadium.
  16. Is there not airBNB downtown?
  17. Feldman better not be on the roster this time. Even one of Loup/Tepera should be gone in favour of Pompey.
  18. If team is bad then they likely sell off a bunch of the older players so the payroll would drop in the coming seasons. Considering the TV ratings I think 10 Million is a very fair figure. Just think an average of 3-4 Million for a playoff game plus the pre and post game show. NHL regional deals go for 30-35 Million and thats for 50 games at an average audience for around 200K.
  19. A lot of the time its not even up to the players as they face huge pressure from their agents and the MLBPA to take the most money.
  20. Is the MLB postseason a separate entity outside of the Blue Jays? Like can TSN bid on them? If so the Jays could make a ton of money just on that alone, but you'd alienate your bosses in the process lol. Have to think the MLB postseason rights would be worth 30 Million on the open market.
  21. Well TV networks are only in it for the money so obviously they will do what generates the most $. CBC is really the only network that will show things for the purity of sport and its funded by taxpayers.
  22. I sat 200 Level baseline row 12 and the view wasn't great tbh. Like you said your under the overhang so seeing flyballs is difficult especially when standing up. Yours might be a little better because you are in the infield though. I was section 236.
  23. I made pretty good money doing it this year but you have to buy/sell at the right time. Right after they won the ALDS in a walkoff was the time to sell ALCS tickets and you would have made decent money on them. You do get screwed with ALCS prices though as they're almost double ALDS. If it ever got to WS though you could sell your tickets and they would basically pay for the next season.
  24. Where did you hear this? I know Rogers is very stupid but having the year they had last year and cutting payroll has to be one of the dumbest PR moves you could make... Just like not increasing payroll another 10-15% next year.
  25. I think having the 3 home games in the middle might be more of an advantage. Basically if you steal 1 of the first 2 all you need is to win 2/3 at home and then you are in the drivers seat.
