10 Day DL is nice as is the WS HFA going to the team with the best record. The MLBPA f***ed over International players though which sucks for the game. You're probably going to lose some talent in the next 10 years because of that.
Why the f*** would they change it to 25 from 23 anyway? Basically saying you don't want the best players in the sport in you league as soon as possible which is stupid.
Every team will get a pool of $5 Million for IFA. Hard cap which is really bad for international FA. Basically get screwed by the Owners without having a Draft. Good for parity though as there is no advantage to losing more games.
Also a QO can only be used only once on a player so that is going to make draft picks even more valuable IMO. Comp picks will be based on the market size of the team signing the player. As well a player has to have a contract greater than $50 Million to qualify for compensation.
Thats going to be the case for every team in FA though. Blue Jays will still have more financial resources than small market teams + won't be affected by Luxury tax.
I think this CBA works well for Jays. Penalizes teams a lot more over Luxury Tax and since the Jays aren't quite going to be that high it narrows the gap between them and those other teams, while also giving advantage over smaller market teams.
If every team gets the same amount in IFA I like the sound of that. It'll be fun to see what teams put all their pool into 1 player vs spread it around.
Expanded rosters stay the same. Sucks for the pace of game but a lot of the guys who get added to the rosters in Sept. are players who normally wouldn't get that opportunity/Major League money.
Helps when you have Two top 3 draft picks to build off of. They had to be crap for a few years to get those high picks and slot bonuses that came along with that.
