  1. Do we really think that's all it would take to land Price. I would be more thank ok with that trade, but I doubt the Rays would be
  2. Ridiculous. For what we're paying him he has been well worth it past two years.
  3. That's an excellent idea.
  4. I see what you're doing, the reverse jinx before the fourth one is official.
  5. We're in a good spot considering Yanks and O's have been losing. Time to take care of business on the road.
  6. Realistically he doesn't think until 5 at the earliest, likely 5:30 by the time they land and checkin.
  7. That's funny he's actually checking out pickles as we speak. They will likely head there.....there's a group of about 6 of them.....in the 35-45 age range I think. He'll have on a white Reyes jersey
  8. A co-worker's going down for his stag. Know of any good bars?
  9. Completely disagree. It's a topic that has been debated back and forth so I don't expect you to change your mind, but I haven't read one thing that proves to me it was the wrong move. There are many angles at play. Dickey's salary, positioning of the team, success rate of top 50 prospects, D'arnauds injury history etc. But at the time it was the right move by both clubs.
  10. Wasn't atrocious at all. Getting a cy young winner at only 10 million a year coming off 3 strong years isn't going to come cheap. Timing was right. Trade hasn't gone as planned for either club, but calling it atrocious for the Jays (or Mets for that matter) is.....well.....atrocious
  11. You can't make that statement when he has never thrown a pitch in the bigs. It's a blanket statement that puts absolutely no condition on his performance when he finally does pitch. We have no idea how he's going to perform once he progresses to the MLB. What we do know is that Dickey hasn't been as good as we hoped, D'arnaud hasn't progressed or shown the talent most expected and Noah started to look more promising than expected until he got the injury bug.
  12. I still make both those trades even without knowing about D'arnauds struggles and injury troubles and Noah's recent injuries or Dickey's inconsistencies. Dickey hasn't been the pitcher he was in 2012 but at 10 million a year he's been valuable.
  13. same could be said for last season and the one before. Amaro is awful. Though perhaps he will be forced to sell if his job's in danger.
  14. Amaro is too stubborn. Plus at his salary will be a tough sell to ownership. And he's not exactly killing it over there. I would be happy with a Jason Hammel - had a stellar year and shouldn't cost too much. *edit* Just looked at Cole's numbers and he's having a fine season, better than I thought
  15. Keep in mind we get him for 1 1/2 seasons. For this season there has to be concern over durability of our staff. Hard to picture Hutchison lasting through the season and into the playoffs. Suppose that doesn't answer the question lol - but whether it's Shark or someone else, adding a starter should help solidify this rotation.
  16. He ain't shabby. Both he and Dickey can be bad, good or great on any given day.
  17. That's the spirit!
  18. I feel as though that's the usual Jay's fan mindset thinking failure's the likely outcome (and I can't help but think that as well) but this team deserves credit for beating some very good pitchers this year. Gausman had one bad start and one good one. No reason we can't knock him around enough to pick up the win
  19. Looking towards this weekend and am hoping the magic continues. I suppose a series split against the O's would be acceptable, but man it would be sweet to pick up a series win. Thursday TOR: Buehrle (10-2, 2.04) BAL: Gausman (1-1, 4.91) Friday TOR: Hutchison (4-4, 3.96) BAL: Jimenez (2-7, 5.01) Saturday TOR: Dickey (6-4, 4.20) BAL: Norris (5-5, 3.94) Sunday TOR: Happ (5-2, 4.12) BAL: Tillman (5-2, 5.20) The first two games would appear to be our best shot. Buerhle's been a stud all year and although Jays don't always fare well against rookie pitchers hopefully we can score a few off Gausman. And with Hutch on the mound in a road start against Jimenez I have to feel good about Friday's game. The next two would appear to be tougher but if we can grab the first two we'll be in a great spot. So weird being a Jay's fan and looking ahead to series that actually mean something!
  20. That's exactly right. For a #5 it's hard to complain. Getting deeper and hitting spots better. It ain't always pretty or perfect but he's done decent
  21. This is hilarious. Amaro's a complete joke. Terrible contracts, club full of geriatrics, stubborn as a mule - just terrible
  22. I'll go ahead and say he's been better than expected. I still have little confidence when he takes the bump, but he's been going much deeper into games which I give him credit for
