  1. I take full responsibility for Boston's win yesterday. I love how they celebrated as though they won the world series after that game.
  2. The 2011 ad for the home opener was killer. The one with the "I'm coming home" song. Got me so fired up.
  3. I suppose the one thing we might smile about the Sox' comeback was it was against Santana. Then lets hope they lose another walkoff
  4. And Sox come back with 5 runs. I am an awful person.
  5. And of course Boston starts to rally right after I post this...
  6. There's something beautiful about our current winning streak coming right at the same time as the Sox imploding. Watching the Sox today with a huge grin on my face.
  7. Very much agree with #2. My most hated ad is the Moosehead one where a group of four people hike up a mountain with a giant cooler and inside the cooler there are FOUR BEERS that they crack open when they reach the top. That's right - one beer each - gonna be a wild night. When on earth would you go hiking with a massive cooler with only one beer each in it.
  8. I am one of Happ's biggest critics but yesterday was the first time this season I was confident when he was on the mound. The two starts before that didn't leave you feeling impressed, but yesterday was a different story. I'm still skeptical but kudos to him for yesterday.
  9. hahaha brilliant. I can think back to my MBA classes and how this would be a funny case study to look at. Just completely missed the mark on having an effective commercial.
  10. Doesn't seem like people don't "get" it - it just doesn't work well. At all.
  11. Exactly. He has two pitches. One which he throws 90% of the time. This just feels like a complete waste of marketing dollars. I'm confident that we could start a thread and within 3 minutes have a MUCH better idea for a commercial that both promotes Westjet and is more entertaining.
  12. Let me start by saying I'm a big Westjet fan. I'll choose them over Air Canada any day. And I'm a big fan of RA Dickey. Love the fact he's a Jay. But what I'm not a fan of are the Westjet commericals he's a part of! Seems like a big fail on Westjet's end. Every time I see them I just cringe. What is the point of seeing him checking in and constantly saying no to a seat number until the agent recommends the "plus" seats. The fact he doesn't say a single word just seems idiotic (and makes him come across as a jackass). Just an awful commercial that makes you feel as though it's supposed to be funny, but it's nowhere near it. And the commercial where the fan says he could catch his knuckleball and RA challenges him feels like it just leaves out the punchline as we never actually get to see him try to catch one. Please stop airing these! I needed to vent on an open forum after keeping this in for so long. Thanks guys.
  13. Happiest about this. Go get em Liam.
  14. Gibby has done a fine job. Referring to pulling Dickey too early is ridiculous - in that one game against Baltimore he had men on 2nd and 3rd with none out until the pen bailed him out. People complaining about pulling Dickey too early are probably the same people complaining about Dickey and saying he's a lost cause. Just look at the batting average of teams the 3rd and 4th time through the lineup against Dickey - nothing wrong with pulling him based on recent history. I would have no problem firing Gibby if there was a better option out there. But I have seen no evidence to claim he's been a terrible manager. I think his in game management is good enough - I question if the non-tangibles of his job are strong enough but that's hard to evaluate from the outside.
  15. Defense both won and lost the game. Fun one to watch.
  16. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2023432-jays-recall-rhp-wagner-option-walden I like Wagner EDIT - Sorry Title should read "option Walden"
  17. Scalpers aren't handing out deals for this series, especially for six in a row. Better off looking at stubhub IMO. There are lots of sets of 6 available in the lower bowl right now which are in a better row than you'll get online and basically the same price. Ex) https://www.stubhub.com/blue-jays-vs-yankees-4-6-2014-4403027/?ticket_id=1066153964 Imagine if you look tomorrow morning some options on stubhub will have gone down in price
  18. THANK YOU! This is my biggest pet peeve at the Rogers Center. Don't do the wave when the opposition is batting for crying out loud, especially in a situation like this!
  19. I agree with that thread being stupid, but on this board I think it's more about people being able to constantly say "hey look at me I was right I said Goins sucked before the year started" then about putting the guy down.
  20. I don't think people are bashing him (well ok sometimes they are) but are more so frustrated that front office actually let us start the season with him as a starting position player. I like the kid and his defense has saved me from being more critical, but his struggles at the plate don't look like something temporary
  21. It's getting harder and harder to make the argument that Goins should be a big league player. 11 at bats is a small sample sure but there's little to get excited about watching his at bats.
  22. That Longoria at bat might have been the best Morrow has looked all game.
