  1. Totally agree. I mean, we're only in first place and way exceeding expectations even though FO did absolutely nothing in the offseason and he's been forced to use fringe players in every lineup this year. What a bum.
  2. 12-15. As bad as they've played, 3 games under for the month isn't exactly sucking all month.
  3. Yes, why would we ever look at past performance. That would be useless.
  4. Guess the Dodgers should bench Kershaw for the rest of the season. He's due to get rocked.
  5. His control was good outside of the 3rd. To me that's a win for Happ. He was getting a lot of swings and misses and was throwing as high as 96 when he was over 100 pitches already. I give him lots of credit for last night even if the Sox aren't exactly an elite offense.
  6. He has made many mistakes that have left me shaking my head. Obvious ones, not just chances that were worth taking but didn't work out. Last night was "hilarious" as people say because we won easily, but we were only up by 5 and just a couple days ago we blew a five run lead in one inning. Obvious mistakes like this shouldn't happen.
  7. You want to make a statement that you mean business, fire this guy midseason. Just infuriating to me - guys has looked clueless out there too many times.
  8. After seeing him send Navarro in what was an absolutely moronic decision (had a perfect angle on where the ball was, none out and it's NAVARRO running) I don't understand why he's still here. He has made numerous poor decisions - maybe we were spoiled with Butterfield before but man, Rivera's just bad. Who knows what sort of heat he takes behind the scenes, but obviously it's not enough because he continues to make mental errors.
  9. Can we talk about baseball please?
  10. McCarthy.
  11. I'm not going to trade for a guy because he's been so unlucky or bad that I expect him to pitch well going forward. We're trying to add pieces that we are confident will help us win more games, not ones that are a crapshoot.
  12. Thank you. I cringe everytime I read his name - if we're making a trade to try to win, I want an arm that I can rely on. McCarthy wouldn't instil much more confidence in me then when Happ takes the mound. We need an impact player.
  13. Funny you ask http://www.milb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20140624&content_id=81276918&fext=.jsp&vkey=news_milb&sid=milb
  14. That would have been fine, I had the Expos at 60-1 too But honestly, the Marlins were much more talented. Were a blast to watch. The two reasons you listed didn't cause the Expos to lose 8 more games than the fish.
  15. Funny you mention that. For some reason I had it in my head that they had greats fans. But the series in Toronto against them this year proved otherwise - saw a lot of douchebags Card fans.
  16. Oh god yes I do. Infuriated me. And I remember Bautista's clash with O'Day - in fact O'Day hit him in the last series and I was surprised no words were exchanged.
  17. Caught an online bookmaker sleeping - hadn't adjusted the odds since they had the worst record in the league. Was a sportsbook called Bluegrass which perhaps unsurprisingly is now out of business
  18. Agree. And don't forget if we had drafted Trout and traded for Felix too. Then we'd have Darvish, Tanaka, Sanchez, Fister and Felix with Alvarez and Hutch in the background. Then Mike Trout in CF. And we should have signed Cano and convinced him to sign for 5 yrs, $45 million. Then we wouldn't have any worries at 2B. Plus don't forget if we kept D'arnaud and he didn't get injured and actually was good and instead of being bad at the MLB level he hit for over .300 and got over 125 RBIs and threw out 95% of base stealers we would be in even better shape. That would have be sweet.
  19. Marlins. In 2003 when I was in undergrad my buddy and I put down a bet on them to win it all at 400-1 odds. They had just called up Dontrelle Willis at the time and had started to pull out of the pit they had dug themselves in. Needless to say they were the best team in baseball right after the bet, won the world series and my $100 bet turned into $40,000. Goodbye student debt! Hoping they make a move this year. Would love to see them get Price (assuming Jays dont). They have the minor league players to do it and even if it isn't enough to get them far this year (though would have great shot at playoffs with Price) when Fernandez is back next year a combo of him and Price would be unbelievable.
  20. Need to see a lot more out of him. Another example of people getting over excited about a prospect. Even some people here claim he's "untouchable". He's in no way a shoe-in to be an impact player in the bigs. Fine to hopeful but there's a long way to go.
  21. Pretty easy to start a what-if scenario thread with multiples decisions that could have been wiser for any MLB team. Pointless.
  22. The real question is where are we with our 1st round draft picks in terms of signing them. I still wouldn't be comfortable with those three for 1 1/2 years of a starter, but with Hoffman and Pentecost inked I wouldn't be totally opposed to dealing those 3 in the right package. And I'm not surprised at all that the asking price is that high. People seem to always overvalue prospects and fans react strongly to losing them. Heck most people on here think Sanchez will be a bust anyways. Too many examples of top prospects not amounting to anything to be all that worried. Could Sanchez, Norris and Pompey all be all-stars? Maybe but the odds are so ridiculously against that from happening. Anyways, I'll deal them all but I would want to use those assets to bring back more than just Shark.
  23. I was surprised they weren't reacting more. You even saw Kawasaki surprised once and hold back from arguing. Seitzer mentioned it right away in his in-game interview though
