  1. With only half a month to go in the season, I'd be interested to know who everyone picks for MVP in their respective leagues. Off the top of my head, here are some candidates who will probably get some votes, feel free to add anyone you think deserves consideration. AL candidates: Mike Trout Jose Abreu Josh Donaldson Felix Hernandez Robinson Cano Jose Altruve Victor Martinez? NL candidates: Ginacarlo Stanton Klayton Kershaw Justin Upton Andrew McCutchen Jonathon Lucroy? Yasiel Puig? Honestly, I've been so impressed with Jose Abreu this year, I'd love to see him win it, but alas, being on a losing team will not net him the MVP. I think Mike Trout gets the nod this year especially after the snub's from years past MVP in the NL is Kershaw in my books.
  2. I have a feeling more teams added over the years resulting in diluted k stats with reference to all the scubs the league has now compared to earlier era's. Just a thought.
  3. His arms look weak, he looks like a kid who drinks the dew and plays vid games all day
  4. i got tix for the bal and sea series, so I'll be happy if they have a decent shot going into the last 7. Skydome will be a rocking.
  5. and the jays would likely have to eat close to 10 million just to get a team to bite
  6. Whoever is managing next year has no choice but to shift Reyes to 2nd, otherwise he isn't the right manager.
  7. Her vag starts at her belly button, one hell of a snapper.
  8. I was thinking maybe ATL could get into the mix. At this point the Braves have to be pondering how to rid themselves of BJ Upton while cleaning him off their books, and considering what happened with Uggla, they might be willing to eat a decent chunk of his salary. Santana and Harang will not be back next year, and the Braves will have 2 Starters returning from TJ surgery next year, dependability is something they would desire for the rotation for a year. In addition, even if Heyward has a decent season next year, it's doubtful the Braves will offer him a long term extension that he would accept given how much they've doled out to there youthful core. (Freeman, Simmons, Kimbrel, Tehran and Chris Johnson to a lesser extent) . They had an opportunity to back load a team friendly deal not too long ago and decided against given his injury history. To the Braves Jose Bautista Mark Buerhle To the Jays BJ Upton Jason Heyward Jose Peraza JR Graham Lucas Sims Braxton Davidson +15 million (potential delayed payments until revenue from new stadium is in.) Jays would be eating BJ's contract, but the sting would be lessened by their contractual obligations past 2015, the overall salary relief, and a nice haul of prospects. . Peraza is a stud leadoff 2B in the making, JR Graham has a cannon, although he's definitely ticketed as a RP now. Watching Heyward's GG defense patrol right field would be mmmmmmmm Anyone have AA and Frank Wren's email?
  9. He's awful, has zero range, poor hands, suspect glove and terrible footwork. Decent arm strength does not warrant the term "decent" defender
  10. What happened to all the folks who were saying Francisco was a decent defender? I hate to say I told you he sux ass.....but I told you he sux ass.
  11. How is that different from the yankees dodgers blowing wads of cash every year for stacked teams. Other than the friend syndrome, its quite comparable
  12. Not so much moronic, just a clear indicator that DH12 has never played competitive baseball.
  13. somewhat good news i guess That raspberry on his elbow grew in a hurry!
  14. my gawd, Lawrie is made of glass.
  15. JP helping our cause, he owes us!
  16. Everyone should post their top 20 list and grades for each tool, it would be interesting to see where the rankings end up.
  17. What if we start winning over the next 2 weeks? Will you still feel that way?
  18. Does Stroman have a shot at ROY? If he continues to pitch like this and maybe not as big a 2nd half from Abreu. Anyone think its possible?
  19. he is pretty fat, maybe it was a bad analogy
  20. Personally, if this team does't make the playoffs I would get rid of him, because for sure next year would be his last and lame ducky GM's make terrible decisions for the future
  21. http://www.tsn.ca/mlb/story/?id=457385 According to Richard Griffin from the Toronto Star (credibility up for debate) AA needs to win to keep his job. Just for fun, how many wins would be needed from the Jays to allow AA to "retain" his GM position?
  22. I fail to see how bitching about it in just about every thread is easier than ignoring a lot of accounts
  23. i have a question, if you ignore someone, does what they write show up in threads? If this is the case wouldn't just be easier to do this?
  24. i honestly could see AA making a trade now, and gutting the farm for nothing
