    No, he said character is important, don't think that translates into "chemistry" and what in the world is winning attitude? Oh maybe it's being positive,upbeat..fun even when losing? Kinda like Reyes, who many dumped on him for behaving in this way. My slant on character is, always do your best, prepare yourself for the game by getting familiar with the opposing teams strengths and weakness, get to the field early before games and practice hard,help your fellow team mates anyway you can, don't criticize team mates during a game. Buehrle would be the guy i'd want other players to emulate on and off the field, no temper, always calm always thinking and congenial .

    Like I'm sure it's already been said, but this loss is on Gibbons. He looks so damn lazy, the way he sits and walks.. he'd be the last I'd hire if looking for a construction worker out of a soup lineup.

    This season isn't over yet.. there are many many posts yet to come. But really, you can't be in love with smoak..i mean him as a baseball player judging from his past. He has some positives, power and defense at 1st...he hasn't hit for average,and is not a base stealing threat, nor a multi position player. that being said,it doesn't mean he can't improve on his weaknesses. I would love to see him improve.. and that goes for all the jays players, including chris colabello. I am not one of the posters who tout certain players and only want them to succeed, and harbor ill will on players who they've deemed as unworthy and are doomed to fail, and conjure up multiple reasons as to why they WILL most certainly fail.

    I hope you're not hoping Smoak will be in the Jay's long term plans ! He is a below average 1st baseman...there's a reason he only made a total of 5 million in the last 5 years. When a crap team like Seattle puts a player on waivers ,you need to run from him like your hair's on fire. Ok, he's cheap.. give him a defensive role in the later innings, like goins will be used. Right now CC has more value,is he a keeper.. most likely not .. but HOLY SMOKES, NOT SMOAK ! But who really know what the future holds for smoak or CC,.. but my money is on CC to make more of a positive contribution this year.

    " We have young talent coming through the pipeline. Let's just stay the course." Like snider, JPA,mcguire,drabeck,Wojo,romero,morrow etc etc . Who would have traded all 7 of these for hamels 3 years ago ? Managers make trades, sometimes they work out, and sometimes they don't, but fact is ..prospects are more apt to fail than pan out. I think anticipating a trade to work out and then does, is mostly luck, excluding deadline trades to help a team short term. If AA made a trade and Jays go deep into the playoffs ..i'll be ok with this.

If Colabello stops hitting you replace him,but NOT for smoak's bat...use smoak like you should goins, when leading in the later innings, but not for his bat, he's brutal !
