  1. Mike Wilner on Twitter fighting tooth and nail to defend the Halladay trade. Mid-season form in March. I think the worst part of that whole trade was getting swindled by Ruben Amaro Jr. That alone is cringe worthy. That trade would be like trading Sanchez, Travis, and Pentecost for Clayton Kershaw today.
  2. Norris was called up last September so he'd have to be down more than 2 weeks to add a year of service, right?
  3. Hendriks can start games. The Jays need him.
  4. Blame the Royals. Their stupid bullpen last season has made teams go nuts this season, including ours.
  5. How does Drabek look this Spring (velocity, command)? His Spring numbers are not terrible and he's out of options. I remember reading that his velocity was bad early in the spring so I wrote him off, but maybe there is some hope afterall.
  6. Sanchez really is Henderson Alvarez.
  7. Gibby, rightfully so, will never get another managerial job in the Majors. If AA told Gibby to hold his dick while he talks to the media, Gibbons would do it.
  8. Liam Hendriks is too old and experienced to make this team. Matt Smoral would be a better bullpen piece. /Alex thinking out loud.
  9. He knows his time is ticking so he is going to go down with the prospects he developed or acquired. That's both admirable and stupid at the same time.
  10. Do they really need a month and a half, though? These last two weeks of ST seem highly pointless as the pitchers are pretty much stretched out and the hitters are getting a couple of AB's before sitting for scrubs. Maybe it's just my paranoia of another injury prior to the start of the season, because lord knows they'll play all the regulars and go all out for the Montreal games.
  11. Then why did Spring Training start in late-Feb instead of early-March? It seems like it's been going on for an eternity.
  12. Holy s***, I can't believe there is still a week and a half until Opening Day. Spring Training is way too damn long. Seems like Norris and Sanchez have already started about 10 games each. Enough is enough. Either start ST later or the regular season earlier.
  13. I think we sold high, but I also think he's going to be a good MLB starter. Not an ace, but a reliable workhorse type. Wish we could have kept him, but we got the WAR Machine, so not even going to pretend to care about losing him.
  14. They are starting rookies at CF, two rotation spots, and the bullpen. Travis is more advanced than all of those guys. He should start at 2B. Period.
  15. Hynes looking good. They seem to want another lefty with Cecil closing, so I think Hynes is a solid bet. Pen looks just about complete now (Cecil, Castro, Loup, Delabar, Redmond, Hynes, Estrada). Not sure how they can protect Hendriks and Drabek unless they go with 8 relievers (or grow a brain and put Castro in the minors).
  16. Hendriks won't clear. Drabek might but his last name may cause a GM to bite.
  17. Hendriks won't pass through waivers. Too many teams need pitching.
  18. Navarro hitting 3rd. Never change, Gibby.
  19. If Ricciardi's teams played in a league with this much parity, the playoff drought would have ended by now. Jays can't make the playoffs when all they needed was 87 wins with 140m payroll last season. He should be on a short leash.
  20. I don't understand why the Jays did that. Didn't make sense then or now. He'd still be in the same spot. AA must have anticipated a budget crunch and knew he would need him in 2015 but even then, they could have done without the September call up since he barely pitched.
  21. Hendriks will scooped up in a second. Jays need SP depth badly. Keep him and put Castro in the minors.
  22. Will: Edwin with Navarro at DH Should: Smoak/Valencia platoon
  23. You guys wouldnt be saying that if Dave Stewart was white. /Dave Stewart
  24. Since the Jays are giving Santana and Wolf a kick in the can, why not Chacin? At least he's young.
  25. Graveman will be a good MLB starter, IMO. I'm not a fan of Nolin, but Graveman I can see carving out a nice MLB career.
