  1. Vlad can eat whatever he wants but lower the amount of calories. That combined with training will get the weight off. He's never going to be a health nut, so don't try to make him one, just educate him to be smarter about the amount of calories he needs depending on what his goals are.
  2. Alford at CF, Pompey as the 4th OF, McKinney in LF, and Hernandez at DH (and some OF here and there). That might impact the vetrin presents that Pillar and Morales provide, but will make for a more watchable young team.
  3. Ok, I never really had an issue with shifts and all that, and maybe I'm getting into "get off my lawn" territory, but I kinda miss the game when everyone played their position and relievers were not spammed as much as they are, etc. Good that the Jays are doing it, Gibby was probably too old school to implement all of this stuff and we need to stay ahead of the curve, but there's still some old school in me, I guess.
  4. BMI is s*** in general, but Vlad is definitely overweight. Just look at the man.
  5. I'm glad the Jays are giving Pompey a chance. He might not turn into anything, but this is the year to experiment with talent and see what happens.
  6. Smith can't play CF and drills everything into the ground. Pompey and Davis can play CF. That might have been the difference.
  7. Yeah I’m rooting for Travis but I think he’s done. He has progressively gotten worse every year and injuries have destroyed his body.
  8. Yeah seriously. Shatkins keeping Morales and Smoak for vetrin presents and then signing this *******. Not a good look. I hope Luciano is ready to be harassed. Latin and a rookie? Norris is going to have a field day.
  9. If Atkins cheated on his wife, and she asked him one day where he was last night, it would take him 25 minutes to explain it. The mark of a bad liar. His Vlad answer deserves to get ripped to shreds. Shapiro would have tap danced around that question easily. Ross still has a lot to learn.
  10. AAA rotation: Borucki, SRF, Pannone, Thornton, Paulino, Waguespack, Zeuch, Merryweather when healthy......am I missing anyone?
  11. Yup. Not a fan of this one. Don’t care if he’s a solid reliever. Dude is a cancer and no team is going to want to deal with his s*** as a trade deadline rental.
  12. He would be a 36 year old FA if he signed a 10 year deal, and no guarantee he'd get $30m for the remainder of his career from that point on. That extra $30m for years 11-13 could easily be a lot more than he would have gotten as a free agent after 2028 season. Of course a lot can change in 10 years with markets. Lower term is not good in today's MLB.
  13. Stanton signed for 13/325, so this was Boras trying to beat that deal specifically.
  14. Wow, Passan saying it is 13/330. 13 years. Yikes.
  15. Harper about to sign with the Phillies. It's about damn time.
  16. Ross knee deep in s*** trying to defend this. Lol. We know why you're doing it Ross. Just nod and smile until 2-3 weeks into the season.
  17. Man I wish the Jays had good players to lock up. Now is the time. Players fearing a lockout and wanting to get a guarantee. Grichuk might be the only realistic extension candidate.
  18. What he did in 2018 won't be relevant in 2021-27 when he's in his 30's and his bat speed eventually starts to decline. Of course Brian Cashman is so great that Stanton will somehow be amazing until the final year of his deal just to piss us off.
  19. He has 9 more years on his deal and a full NTC. Even Cashman won't be able to get out of that deal. Love it when the Yanks make a mistake like that. Dude is going to fall off hard the second half of that contract, if not sooner. Of course that's chump change to the Yankees, but still.
  20. I can accept Drury as a buy low. Cashman gave up better than average prospects to acquire him and when Cashman does that then it means something. He has a track record but was forced to trade Drury because of lack of roster spot. But McKinney looks like a low BA platoon power bat with little defensive value (unless he’s a killer 1B). If it was Drury and some low level lottery ticket I’d probably be more ok with it.
  21. McKinney seems so disgustingly ordinary that it still pains me he was the main prospect coming back for Happ. There wasn't some 19 year old in A-ball on another team with at least a 10% chance of being a star that we could have gotten instead? A 1 WAR platoon outfielder that needed 40 man roster protection shouldn't have been something we coveted.
  22. Yeah, Hicks is really good, very underrated. But 7 years is still a long time in today's landscape. Wonder if Cashman went for more years to get a lower AAV for tax purposes. That would be the only explanation that makes sense since Hicks is not the most durable player.
  23. It’s not like Shatkins to let an asset, not matter how marginal, go for nothing. If he’s made it this far and now Grichuk not 100%, I think he’s in.
  24. Pompey is going to make the team. Never thought that would happen.
  25. How did Galvis get $5m and Iglesias has to beg for a minor league deal?
