Man I knew the lineup was going to be mediocre this year but damn. Jays basically getting no hit through 5 innings every game. If they ever face an opener, they'll probably get no hit for real.
Pretty messed up to call him up and then change course like that, unless there is another move on the way.
I'm pretty sure Pillar will be a Jay until he retires so I am no longer expecting him to be traded. Shatkins trying to troll us by keeping him for this long.
Nah, Pillar is starting. Alford will end up getting a lot of AB's this season, though. I think Montoyo will be playing a bunch of different lineups on a day to day basis.
$500k for DSJ plus at least $250k in this deal gives the Jays a pretty healthy amount. Shatkins has invested heavily in international market since they took over. I like them doing this much better than getting some s***** C level prospects.
Damn how the hell did Shatkins pull this off? The return is probably s***, but who cares?
I don't think this was for Tellez, it is probably to play both Teoscar and McKinney at the same time, with Pillar in CF and Grichuk in RF.
The Jays are going to keep him for as long as they need to in order to hold his rights for six years and then IL him. Shatkins doesn't care about 2019. They'll find a way to work around this.
Luciano is going to stay on the team for whatever amount of days he needs to (90?) and then will be IL'ed for the rest of the year. Montoyo will have to be careful when he uses him because we will probably see a bunch of 1 IP/5+ ER outings from him, and 5 runs might be kind.
Do we know if Paulino was sent down to start? If he was, then I approve. If he wasn't, and they are putting him in the pen, then he should be in the bigs right now.
Yeah I'm mixed about that. Glad for Tatis that he made it, but seems like a dumb move by the Padres.
The system is broken and needs to be fixed, but the Jays are doing the more sensible thing here.
