    Of course, it may not matter if the Angels continue to implode. 1-9 since Freese went down.. mostly because they aren't scoring. Might get him back in two weeks.. but it's possible he doesn't return until late August. Reality is, though, their lineup is thin. It's mostly dependent on Trout and Pujols, with a little bit of Calhoun. Neither of their catchers hit, LF has been a black hole all year, and why is Giovatella still leading off? And their bench, even with the trades, is awful. That team really needed another big bat at the deadline.. but don't have the farm system to get it.

    We're going to need to win a lot of those games vs. the Yanks in the next two months.

    Minnesota's pitching depth isn't that great, and any that they have is horrible, with FIP's north of 4, a struggling bullpen, and a lack of OBP in the lineup. And the Twins are a mediocre team overall.. that 20-7 month was an outlier. This team isn't making the playoffs.. it wouldn't be surprising if they finish at or below .500. And Trevor May's in the bullpen (innings limit?) As for the Angels, the David Freese and CJ Wilson injuries have been devastating for a team with little depth. They had to use Colby's bro as a starter today because of their lack of options in the minors, and probably because Nick Tropeano isn't an option because Jered Weaver and his 85 mph fastball are coming back shortly. But Freese's loss hurts. Neither Gillaspie, Featherston or Kubitza are decent options offensively.. look how much the Angels have struggled to score. White Sox are a tough call.. you just saw them get routed by the Yanks.

    With the Twins about to lose, an Angels loss brings the wild card deficit down to 1 and 2 games for each wild card. Could be a big week for the Jays (and Orioles)

    After their behaviour in today's game, hopefully MLB comes down hard on them. No excuse for them to throw at Donaldson.

    Hopefully MLB is tough on Volquez and Madson for throwing at Donaldson multiple times. Both of them should have been ejected. And Sanchez should not have been ejected.. hopefully he doesn't get nailed for 3-5 games. And BTW, Jim Wolf is awful.

    Just glad we're done with the Royals after this. Can't wait to rout the Twins.. the pitching matchups all favor Toronto (except maybe Thursday.. depending what Kyle Gibson does.)

    Wait until next weekend.. the O's, who are chasing the Angels, as are the Jays, play them. Bet Houston is starting to feel more comfortable about a potential AL West title..
