    Before today, Sanchez had a 0.93 ERA/0.31 WHIP, 1BB/9K ratio as a reliever in 10 appearances on the year. Today's blowout was just a blip on the radar.. as long as he doesn't do it frequently, it's not really an issue. But thinking about it.. he should've been in to start the inning. Gibby left Price in too long.. Hopefully he doesn't repeat this mistake tomorrow and Sunday. We need to win at least one game or two to keep within a 0.5 game either way.

    However, Girardi needs to watch Betances' innings.. he's only 16 appearances away from a career high in appearances. Ditto for Justin Wilson, and Andrew Miller did get injured earlier this season. Frequently, GIrardi goes to Betances for more than 1 inning.. this cannot be sustained forever. Sooner or later, he will break down.. unfortunately, the Yanks bullpen is a mixed bag after Betances and Miller.

    Boston also lost Steven Wright for at least a week to a concussion.. leaves them with no starter for Monday vs. Cleveland, likely a bullpen game (they have zero options in Pawtucket.)

    Torey Louvollo will be the interim manager until Farrell returns in the 2016 season.

    Well, at least Betances won't be available tomorrow.. 29 pitches.

    And BTW, Cleveland plays the Yankees at Yankee Stadium next weekend. And LA better figure out how to hit, or Tampa is going to pass them, as they get Smyly and Jennings back within days. And regarding Houston.. keep in mind the Astros are also fighting the Angels for the division.

    This has been the Tribe's season in a nutshell.. lots of fiery arms in the rotation and high K totals ruined by terrible defense, lack of power in the offense, bullpen struggles, etc. It'll be an interesting offseason in Cleveland trying to bring in help to get this team to the next level.

    Can you believe this Yankees team was once 7 games up on July 28 after hanging a 21 on the Rangers? They're 4-9 since.. and the August 4th game that huge outburst vs. Boston was the peak.. they've scored only 9 runs since. It's like many of their veterans are breaking down (see Tex, A-Rod).. their average this month is absolutely putrid.

    Braves bullpen is trash.. 7-6 Rays. They'll be ahead of the O's at the end of the night.. Angels fans, be afraid.

    Worse.. it's 14-4 now. Ryan Cook sucks.. he and Robbie Ross made Ed-Rod's 6th inning mess worse.. as for Sandoval, he's not even replacement level(-0.7 WAR), while Donaldson is an MVP candidate. Wonder if that Boston writer got fired for what he wrote...

    On the plus side for the Indians, they've knocked the big guys out of the Yanks pen. They have Pinder, Mitchell and Warren left..

    Which is bad news for the Angels if they lose.. LA needs wins badly, as the O's, Rays and Rangers are on their tail.
