  1. ESPN end-of-season awards: http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/13788288/handing-my-season-ending-mlb-awards Donaldson AL MVP, HanRam LVP (with video of Hanley being Hanley.. so bad, he gets moved to 1B next season). Since the trade deadline, Boston is 32-23 (21-12 since Hanley got injured.) Imagine, Boston makes the postseason with Toronto (with the Yanks either in the 2nd wild card or out altogether) if they hadn't wasted money on HanRam and puts JBJ or Castillo there in LF all season.. the pitchers appreciated it when HanRam was taken out of LF.
  2. Sal Perez, Lorenzo Cain and Alex Rios are also banged up as well.. if they get rested this weekend, it could wreak havoc on the AL Wild Card, especially if Houston loses their series. Do you realize we could end up with a 2 or 3 way tie between the Astros, Angels and Twins?
  3. Of course, Eric Thames is playing in a league likely the equivalent of AA or AAA.. with these numbers, if he chooses so, will at least get a minor league deal with somebody looking to catch lightning in a bottle. Hey, it worked for Chris Collabello..
  4. WTF? Ryan Madson? Where the heck is Wade Davis? Rangers clinch a trip to the postseason, beating the Angels 5-3. A date with KC or TOR is on the line tomorrow with one more win.
  5. Nice block there by Herrera. Alexei is so stupid.. just cost his team a chance to tie the game. Now they'll get Wade Davis next to shut the White Sox down. Alexei Ramirez will be a free agent in a few more days.. (officially, after the World Series), and Roibn Ventura will likely be joining him too when the Sox fire him.
  6. Rangers are 3 outs away from knocking the Angels out of the division race and guaranteeing at least a tie with Houston for the division (if the Rangers get swept and the Astros sweep the D-Backs).
  7. Hochevar blowing up on Abreu's 2 run single.. and now the tying run is coming to the plate. And congrats on Jose Abreu's 30/100 season. Now if only he had a better supporting cast around him.
  8. It's more that it questions whether the Rays will be able to survive long term. Attendances like that in Montreal got them moved to Washington. And the Rays are in the exact same situation as the Expos.. no money, stadium needing replacement, weak TV deal(though renewal is coming.. but the looming cable bubble burst is going to hurt the Rays leverage.
  9. Quad tightness for Morales, day-to-day.
  10. Home field for the ALDS, I meant. And their division. But still, Yost is being stupid again..
  11. I'm in agreement with that. Royals should've given some rest to many of their regulars, considering they've clinched home field. Losing Morales for the Twins series could hurt a lot, especially considering the Twins have a wild card berth to play for, likely the 2nd one. And the Twins are getting help--Rangers lead 4-1 on the Angels. A Rangers win sends Texas to Toronto or Kansas City for the ALDS.
  12. Kendrys Morales just pulled up lame. Yost being Yost.. you've got home field advantage! Rest some regulars! Unfortunately, he doesn't get it.. and this is part of the reason the Royals will not get out of the ALDS..
  13. Twins just tied the game. Rays attendance tonight: 9,657. 3 straight sub-10K games. Not optimistic for the weekend.. expect loads of empty seats for the Jays series. And we need 2/3 at least..
  14. Well, they'll be lucky to draw 40K this weekend in St. Pete, even with the AL East champs in there facing Tampa:
  15. The ones in that pic of the guy who ripped off a wall was from the 500 level, which has yet to be renovated, but likely will in the offseason.
  16. Say, what was with the seating out in LF back in 1992 in that one section near the foul pole?
  17. Did anyone notice that Pat Borders isn't exactly a great defensive catcher? Just a feeling. He also played into 2005.. mostly because in that season, the Mariners burned through multiple catchers due to injury.
  18. Well, they put new video boards in foul territory this season, new concessions, automatic bathroom fixtures in the 100 level. I've been going there since 2006.. and outside of the studio, washrooms and Jays Shop, it hasn't changed much to me either.
  19. Why don't they ever use fireworks at the Skydome/Rogers Centre anymore for HRs? And interesting to see BJ Birdy there.. we all know why he's gone(performer owned the costume and the Jays wanted a character they could control rights, which led to Ace being created.)
  20. Now we're into Game 6 of the 1992 ALCS as we continue to wait out the rain. Skydome/Rogers Centre hasn't changed much since 1992.. except the turf is much better than it was back then.
  21. Weren't the Raiders in Los Angeles back then? When they moved to Oaklnd, the o.Co was wrecked badly. Now it looks awful.. but still better than the Trop.
  22. Watching the 1992 ALCS on Sportsnet right now.. wow, the O.co looked like a decent stadium back then. Damn Raiders forcing Mt. Davis on it...
  23. And to put an end to this stupid rumor, some actual news. He is fine and will be ready for October 8th:
  24. Not true and Shi Davidi never said anything about that.
  25. It is not a bad idea to rest top starters, especially with all the work expected through the postseason, when they're pitching every 3 games (including off days).
