  1. Fangraphs isn't exactly kind on Choo's arm, as his arm strength has collapsed since 2012 due to injuries and age. And Hamilton is average at best, plus with all his injuries, it's difficult to evaluate. This is where they wish Martin hadn't gotten hurt or at least have been competent with the bat. DeShields is especially bad in CF, only in for his bat. http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=fld&lg=all&qual=0&type=1&season=2015&month=0&season1=2015&ind=0&team=13&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0&sort=18,d
  2. That means nothing. Gallardo's not getting lucky 3 times in one season, especially since the Jays likely have more info on him now.
  3. Rangers are quite poor defensively, with only 3B (Beltre) being above average. 14th in AL in errors, and an OF of Hamilton/DeShields/Choo isn't inspiring defensively. Any runs they score will be given up heavily, and the Rangers will have to carry defensive replacements on the roster just to manage, which will limit flexibility. Stubbs and Venable have been frequently used as replacements due to the D problems of Hamilton and DeShields. Odor is many steps below Goins defensively. Defense: 1B Smoak>Moreland 2B Goins>Odor 3B Beltre=Donaldson SS Andrus= LF Revere>Hamilton CF DeSheilds RF Bautista>Choo C Martin>Chirinos/Wilson/Gimenez
  4. Rangers are AL West champs. Off to Toronto they go to likely get pummeled.. they're the weakest contender of all the playoff teams.
  5. Rangers aren't exactly coming into the series on a high note.. losing 5 of their last 9. And that bullpen got lit up yesterday..
  6. And a team we dominate (4-2, 34-21 in runs). Just need to beat Gallardo..
  7. Astros tie their game. An Astros win gets them home field advantage for the wild card, as the Yankees are limping to the finish vs. the Orioles, 7-2.
  8. Royals up 5-0. This game's not going to matter. Prepare for the Rangers or Astros Thursday.
  9. Heck, it's uncertain who the Rangers will have to pitch by Thursday, especially if the Rangers lose, Astros win, and they end up in a play-in game for the division or wild card.
  10. 9 runs in an inning? The Rays didn't do this all season..
  11. Ump's really squeezing Buehrle.. and the errors aren't helping.
  12. Jays get home field through the World Series.
  13. Still a ways to go.. LA is up 2-0 early on thanks to a HR by Albert Pujols. Twins/Royals scoreless..
  14. Nice speed by Revere! Last day for Cabrera in a Rays uniform.. he'll be playing for somebody else next year for big money because the Rays revived his career, and the Rays will be left with nothing.
  15. With the Yanks losing the double-header, here's the situation: HOU win tonight, Angels would be 1.0 GB and the Astros would trail the Yanks by only one game. If the Yanks lose tomorrow, providing the Astros don't collapse vs. the D-Backs tonight: HOU win and TEX loss--one game playoff Monday, winner gets division, loser either hosts a WC game (HOU) or goes to Yankee Stadium(TEX) HOU loss and TEX loss--Rangers win division, LA/HOU one game playoff Monday, winner goes to Yankee Stadium. HOU win and TEX win--Rangers win division, HOU gets wild card and hosts at Minute Maid Park. HOU loss and TEX win--Rangers win division, HOU goes to Yankee Stadium.
  16. Big day tomorrow. And it's no guarantee we play Texas.. still a chance Houston can tie the Rangers if the Angels win tomorrow, which would force a 1-game playoff for the AL West.
  17. Not if the Royals blow it. Royals have losing records vs. the Yankees, Astros and Rangers.
  18. Only threw one inning on Thursday, plus it may be a meaningless game. It also depends who the Jays want to face in the ALDS.. Actually, it's TBA. Likely they may let Buehrle throw 2 innings to get to 200, then go to Hutchison.
  19. He won't get a qualifying offer.. not enough sample size. And there's a reasonable chance Toronto might be able to bring him back for a reasonable cost.
  20. Throwing 1 pitch.. then the Angels scored 5 in the 9th to win the game. Getting VERY interesting in the AL West and wild card race..
  21. Especially considering this may be the last postgame concert ever.. the Rays will be heavily cutting expenses and payroll next year with no new stadium and poor attendance.
  22. That's the Indians, not the Twins. You must be referring to Sano or Buxton, who were top-tier prospects anyway.
  23. Of course, the Twins, until recently, have had development issues. Span and Revere blossomed in other orgs, as did Carlos Gomez, Danny Valencia, Liriano, Hendriks, etc..
