  1. That would also be a dumb decision--Ceciliani isn't hitting in Buffalo right now.
  2. He's on the DL BTW and not currently playing for the Nats.
  3. Gibbons shaking up the lineup slightly--Saunders moved up, Smoak in for Cola, Martin moved to the 7 hole:
  4. How about being a little more aggressive? Jays are too busy trying to get deep counts to try to get walks.. and they're paying for it. I'd like to see a few more hits. Pitching's not really a issue.. it's been serviceable. But the offense needs some work.. how about actually trying to hit bad pitches for once? It's not just us BTW--Mets are going through similar issues. Pitching well, but haven't hit yet.. Could be worse--we could be the Red Sox. Hitting well--but the pitching is absolute garbage! Not even Price or Kimbrel can douse this tire fire in the rotation and the bullpen.. 7 games in, Boston has the worst pitching staff in the AL AGAIN. Tonight's game, which Buchholz and co. served up 9 runs to the O's (who are now a f***ing 7-0!)--shows Boston's rotation is awful after Price.. but even Price is having struggles.
  5. Hopefully Donaldson will be ready to play the field again on Tuesday..
  6. Swihart really sucks catching Wright.. guess they better find an equivalent of Josh Thole in Boston.. Blake is JPAing himself catching a knuckleball.
  7. Betts continues to have a slow start. Estrada's off to a strong start.. throwing lots of strikes.
  8. Put Saunders or Tulo up there! Pillar is better suited for the bottom of the order. He's not a leadoff guy.
  9. Why is it the Jays always struggle in April? It's been like this the last few years.
  10. He's so fat, even the belt doesn't want to play for Sandoval..
  11. Almost a Buck Blunder there with Rusney Castillo--too bad Dan Shulman is in Detroit right now getting ready for Sunday Night Baseball.
  12. Red Sox wasted $80M on this POS? They may have good young players--but it won't matter if the pitching continues to be garbage outside of Price. Looks like the Sox bullpen will be gassed for Sunday the way Porcello is gascanning so far..
  13. We all know it's Leon that's going to be gone. Biagini, Morales, Osuna, Cecil, Floyd, and Storen are fine. Uh oh.. Morales may have an injury according to Gibby--perhaps Morales may go on the DL for Estrada instead.
  14. That Brock Holt gave us a tough time tonight! He's really doing well having a regular spot in the lineup.. why is Castillo even on the Red Sox roster if they can't use him? As for the Jays..not sure Gibbons is fully to blame for this loss. Stroman just didn't have it.. and the Sox group of Ortiz/Shaw/HanRam and Brock Holt are off to hot starts. Holt will cool off-- he wears down quickly, as he's traditionally been a bench player.. but is getting regular work due to a lack of decent natural OF options that can hit. TBH, they hit Cleveland hard in the 2 games they got in.. Jays are just going to have to either pitch better and play better defense. Too many good hitters in the Sox lineup..
  15. Soon to be 7 with Leon expected to be DFAd on Sunday for Estrada. Plus, considering how difficult Boston is to face, need to conserve arms..
  16. Geez Louise, Holt is tearing the cover off the ball-- 8 RBIs in 3 games! Eat your heart out Starlin Castro.. where did Holt find this power?
  17. You left out Ezequiel Carrera--he's on the bench too.
  18. Assigned and outrighted to Buffalo (AAA).
  19. Sorry-should've been in Jays Discussion.. just wanted to point it out.
  20. These sports rights issues are hitting a number of teams and networks--look at the mess at ESPN!
  21. Jays keep their former top catching prospect, as expected. Nobody wanted him because of his injury concerns. It gives the Jays more time to groom him as Thole's replacement next year if he stays healthy and hits, and plays good defense:\
  22. Well, they didn't want to see Biagini unless it's for long-relief I guess.. plus they wanted to see if Leon was worth keeping a roster spot, which after that outing, proved that he isn't deserving of one. But Gibbons made a mistake to put him in after Floyd--should've had him go after Happ was taken out.
  23. Ads aren't going away--everybody has ads on the OF wall in MLB (except Boston of course)
  24. The smarter option would've been to use Leon in the 7th and go to Floyd if Arnold got in trouble. Plus, Leon had to be used sooner or later--they need to decide whether to cut Leon or send Biagini back to the Giants by Sunday. Based on Leon's performance, we know what's gonna happen.
