Boston had all the money available to bring Drew, Salty and Ellsbury back.. but Sox ownership is frigging cheap and bothered by the Adrian Gonzalez trade, considering the Dodgers won't bail them out again if they repeat the same mistakes of the 2011-2012 teams.
The main problem Boston is failing is due to the fact many of their players had career years last year at the same time, and several pitchers, such as Peavy, Buchholz and Doubront have seriously regressed. Playing multiple rookies in the lineup (Bradley Jr., Bogaerts, and Middlebrooks) has hurt, as Bradley looks awful at the plate, and Bogaerts has had defensive issues at SS. Failing to find a decent leadoff man has hurt as well, as their offense has dropped.
