  1. Here's how Mookie Betts was rated according to MLB.com: Hit: 60 | Power: 45 | Run: 60 | Arm: 45 | Field: 55 | Overall: 55 Basically, he's an above average hitter, who will be hitting a lot of singles and doubles, as he doesn't have a lot of HR power, which is not a good thing considering Boston ranks 15th in slugging percentage, with only David Ortiz showing any signs of power. Unfortunately, hitters will be running on him, as he has a weak arm and mediocre fielding skills. He's playing OF because Dustin Pedroia is at 2B for the next decade. Mike Trout he isn't.
  2. Red Sox calling up Mookie Betts.
  3. Possible. Get Bautista back tomorrow and we'll have a good chance.
  4. Most MLB teams could beat Vidal Nuno.. but Boston's offense is so inept right now that they make #5 starters like Nuno look like Cy Young. 7 times they've been shut out this season, and 13th rated offense in the AL, although they're pretty close to Tampa and Houston offensively. And worse, John Farrell and Ben Cherington STILL won't call up Mookie Betts. And they're carrying 8 relievers right now because they won't eat Peavy's contract and DFA him, nor call up another bat that is badly needed on the Red Sox right now.
  5. But Baltimore only gained 1/2 a game because of their loss earlier in the day to Tampa in the first half of the double-header. Still, that was a disappointing loss for the Jays. At least they didn't blow a winnable game like Boston did.. how the heck do you get shut out by Vidal Nuno?
  6. That's better by Reyes. Get the DP and get out of the inning for Dickey.
  7. A closer needing a change of scenery (Frieri) for a declining closer (Grilli).. bad trade for the Angels. Do the Angels even want to win the AL West or a wild card, or do they want to hand Seattle a spot?
  8. Strange lineup tonight. And yet it'll likely score a bunch vs. terrible White Sox pitching.
  9. Mostly due to his splitter.. but that decreased fastball velocity could be a problem.
  10. Yanks media is getting concerned about Tanaka's velocity: http://www.northjersey.com/sports/klapisch-is-masahiro-tanaka-s-drop-off-in-speed-cause-for-worry-1.1041335 A dropoff by Tanaka could be devastating to the Yankees playoff chances, as he is basically the only reason the Yankees aren't chasing Tampa for last place.
  11. So what did the Hawk do tonight (if anyone watched the White Sox broadcast)?
  12. Someone tell the NBA to block Shabazz from being traded to Miami..
  13. Shabazz Napier to Charlotte. Lebron's leaving Miami for sure now..
  14. Raptors pick Bruno Caboclo. WTF?
  15. Phoenix is getting panned for drafting Ennis, especially considering they already have Bledsoe. And Happ's out after 7 2/3.
  16. 120 pitches for Happ. Of course, there's an off day on Monday, so Gibbons can afford to push him.
  17. Damn Phoenix... they just stole Tyler Ennis from us. JA Happ's still out there?
  18. Wow, are the White Sox terrible.. they've made Happ look like an ace tonight.
  19. Tough to answer this question. Of course, the White Sox's terrible defense didn't help matters either..
  20. He was the GM at one time, and a bad one, trading Bobby Bonilla for a pitching machine, and firing Tony La Russa.
  21. And annoy us with "You can put it on the board.... YES!" every time Jose Abreu hits a HR.
