  1. And this is the ace of the O's?? Tillman looks awful. With those curve balls, he looks like one who's going to give up a ton of HRs.
  2. Anyone watching the Red Sox/Cubs game on TSN2? 3-0 Cubs on a 2 run shot on Ruggiano. Betts still can't buy a hit.
  3. 4-0 now after Tillman could not catch a line drive.
  4. O's sked features the Red Sox(3), Nationals(4 home & home), Yankees(3) and Darvish tomorrow before the All-Star break. Two of those series will feature much better pitching than what they've faced vs. Texas, not so certain on the Yankees. Considering how dependent they are on HRs to score, I have doubts on Baltimore's sustainability, especially with such mediocre pitching outside of Gausman.
  5. And that team has just sunk below .500 with a 6-3 loss to Tampa. It's basically now just a battle between the Jays and O's right now in the East, which may be favorable for the Jays because the O's face a nasty schedule after the Rangers series.
  6. As long as Miles Mikolas doesn't fall victim to the long-ball, which DFAd Joe Saunders and Nick Martinez have been victim to.
  7. Have you seen the Brewers this year? They've dominated the NL Central, winning on every facet of the game. They lead the Cards by 6.5 games, as the Cards are struggling to score. That strong bullpen the Brewers have has really helped that team contend, especially with arms like Will Smith, K-Rod , Zach Duke with his new delivery, etc. The only thing they really need is a way to get Rule 5 Pick Wei-Chung Wang off the roster, as he makes if difficult for the Brewers to call up arms, which could be costly if the bullpen starts to wear down in August and September.
  8. And the way the Yanks are going their attendance is going to crater as soon as Jeter retires, as the team is absolutely mediocre and expensive. Yanks attendance has dropped sharply since 2010, and could fall further if the team falls out of contention (with a loss today, the Yanks will be below .500)
  9. Uh.. Seattle? L.A.? Oakland? Those teams have significant leads in the race, and no help is in sight. Seattle is beating Houston right now, and L.A. is on a roll. The only hope for the Sox is a continued implosion by the A's (who are about to get swept by the Tigers.)
  10. SS prospect Devan Marrero just got promoted to AAA by the Red Sox. Drew's days are numbered if Marrero shows some semblance of a bat along with that plus glove.
  11. Look, Betts will be great down the road. But he's likely headed back to AAA soon, as Mike Carp, Wil Middlebrooks and Shane Victorino are going to be coming off the DL soon. However, it's also possible they demote Bogaerts (who's badly struggling) and JBJ (same)
  12. EDWING! Walk-off 3 run shot! Even Ace is getting into it (he had a stuffed parrot on his shoulder.)
  13. After this game. Then Kratz will be recalled. Mastro might be sent down too to get Cecil as well.
  14. Well, that was an interesting inning. Both managers tossed..
  15. Good inning by Loup. And BTW, Jamie and Zaunie are ripping Mastro a new one.. Mastro will be in AAA by the end of today.
  16. Well that sucked.. luckily we have 2 innings to plate a run.
  17. Gose PRing for Bautista. Playing it safe on the hamstring I imagine.
  18. F*** Mastro... he'll probably be sent down for Kratz and Cecil.
  19. Mastro PHing. EE will go back to 1B when they go to the 8th, which will upgrade our D.
  20. Getaway day. We have a plane to Oakland to catch after the game.
  21. Wasn't Kevin Pillar like this for us last year, with some lesser hype than Mookie Betts? However, let's wait and see what Betts does vs. Baltimore. If he continues to struggle, he will definitely be sent back to Pawtucket. It's not that he's overmatched, as he's had good discipline at the plate.. it's just that Boston's patience is starting to wear thin, especially with pressures to return to the postseason again, despite the fact last year's team was a fluke causing by career years and a healthy Jacoby Ellsbury.
  22. Still don't get Seattle.. but boy that team is legit! Right now they lead 12-1 vs. Houston. Yanks fans aren't going to like it, as they'll be 4 out of the wild card..
  23. Red Sox lose again. THE Mookie Betts: 0-4, 3 flyouts. 1-10 with 1 BB overall. He needs to go back to AAA, as he is far from MLB ready. According to Boston media, Betts still needs work with his routes in CF and RF. Boston should've waited until September or 2015 to call him up, as he has failed so far to solve Boston's OF woes. Wil Middlebrooks and Shane Victorino need to return soon.
  24. Yanks lose and sink to .500. Expect a desperation move by the Yanks within days. The team's 2-8 in their last 10 and sinking out of the playoff race, as they will be 3.5 and 4.0 back of the AL East and wild card, respectively. Since they're not scoring, expect the Steinbrenners to start making moves, including releasing struggling vets(Roberts, Soriano) trading for players and possibly calling up Pirela, Murphy and that infield prospect Rob Refsnyder.
  25. Oakland's going to be only 3 up in the loss column with a loss tonight, as the Angels are closing in.
