  1. Wow, that is pretty ugly base-running for the Cards... surprising Matheny hasn't been fired yet.
  2. They'll probably outsource all their baseball stuff to MLB Network... which they hold a stake in. Pretty huge cutbacks for ESPN..
  3. And the hits keep on coming for the Mets--Cespedes left the game with a hamstring injury. Nats can pretty much go on cruise control in the NL East...
  4. He can play 1B--he's just sitting for the first game of the double-header. He will return in Game 2.
  5. At this point, Maile or Ohlman, or even Reese McGuire would be upgrades over Salty.. as for Navarro, there's likely reasons no team will sign him.. perhaps cutting Salty will be considered when the Jays get back to Toronto.
  6. More likely they'll just call up Tony Kemp, Preston Tucker or Andrew Aplin (all are on the 40). More concerning is Altuve.. like Donaldson with the Jays, he is the one player Houston cannot afford to lose for any period of time..
  7. Mariners can't catch a break--Mitch Haniger is now hurt, with an oblique strain, and looks DL bound.. not to mention King Felix was awful.
  8. Altuve and Teoscar Hernandez got into a collision... considering Marisinick is already out with a concussion, this would be hard on the Astros OF depth if he ends up on the DL, and more difficult if Altuve is out...
  9. And now Thames just hit his 10th! What's the record for fastest to 10 HRs in a season to start?
  10. Fire that home plate umpire! Twice in the same game..
  11. At this point, Atkins and Shapiro have to be looking at it, since Salty hasn't done a damn thing when he's been here.. he's worse than Thole.
  12. LOL Jaso.. a non-OF embarrassed himself in RF to hand the Yankees 2 runs.. as the Yankees take a 5-3 lead in the 6th.
  13. And if that's not bad enough for the Giants, Melvin Upton Jr. is out 8 weeks with a torn ligament in his thumb.. Giants cannot find anyone to play LF right now...
  14. On the topic of Cleveland--so far, the Edwin deal is not making the team better. Worst starting pitching in the AL.. only the bullpen is keeping them afloat. After Salazar & Carrasco, Kluber/Bauer/Tomlin have ERAs north of 6... the offense, no thanks to Edwin, is only being supported by their own pieces in Jose Ramirez, Santana, Lindor, Brantley and Chisenhall.. so far, giving $20M to Edwin has been looking like a waste and could end up being an albatross for the Indians.. Kendrys has been the more productive player here in Toronto, as Edwin only has 2 HR/5RBIs, batting .217, and striking out as horribly as Jose Bautista..however, he is a slow starter. But Cleveland can't wait forever.. not when the pitching can't carry its weight. Like the Jays, it's surprising no teams other than Milwaukee showed interest in Eric Thames.. I mean, he's up to 8 HRs now.. and has the most runs scored in MLB (20).. quite a steal for the Brewers!
  15. Former Blue Jay Emilio Bonifacio's brother, Jorge, has been called up to the Royals along with P Matt Strahm.. with Raul Mondesi Jr. and Paulo Orlando getting sent down. Royals already shaking up the roster to try to spark the team in a middling AL Central.. where everyone is within a game of each other, unlike the AL East and West.. Shockingly, KC's starters are #1 in ERA.. the bullpen is killing them, though... Cleveland is 30th in SP ERA..
  16. Dwight Smith Jr. with a 3-hit game tonight. It's time for the Jays to consider calling him up.. Bautista is currently killing the team right now with his lack of production when there's a potentially better option in the minors...
  17. Jays win! Now beat Sale tomorrow and start a winning streak.. Angels outside of Trout are crap, and the Cards can't score or play D.. only thing that may hurt in the Angels series is Lawrence and Latos.. hopefully it's only for one spot start. However, it's time for the Jays to considering either moving Bautista down in the order or benching him.. we have a near Frank Thomas 2008 style situation with him right now... it might be time to actually consider releasing him and bringing up an OF who can actually hit capably.. I mean, Ian Parmley and Dwight Smith Jr. are tearing up Buffalo right now.
  18. I'm almost tempted to have Dwight Smith Jr. or Ian Parmley called up.. either of them would likely outhit Bautista at this point. Jays need to do something...
  19. Here's a 40-man suggestion--DFAing Tepera!
  20. It's time to bench or DFA Bautista.. right now, he is doing more harm to the team than good.. when is Pompey going to be healthy enough to play? Or when are we going to have an OF to replace him?
  21. Get rid of f***** Tepera!!! He has no business on an MLB roster. While the offense has been a little better tonight--Sox are tearing the cover off the ball. 2-11... when is somebody going to get fired?????? At the rate things are going, the rebuild will be starting sooner than later...
  22. Where he'll be playing with Tony Sanchez.. another former Blue Jays farmhand. Angels catching depth is ghastly awful...
  23. Juan Graterol back to the Angels for cash/PTBNL. Either the Angels like him a lot or it's because they have no catching depth in the minors.
  24. Danny Barnes called up to Toronto, replacing Matt Dermody on the roster.. no word on Happ, which may be a sign he may not miss much time.
  25. Astros running away with the West--3.5 game lead on the competition so far (biggest lead among division leaders)..it also helps the division is very weak.
