Hal Steinbrenner's not going to tolerate 2 straight non-contending seasons. I expect him to go on a firing spree like his father used to do: From Wikipedia (not really a reliable source): Steinbrenner quickly became famous for his rapid turnover of management personnel. In his first 23 seasons, he changed managers 20 times; Billy Martin alone was fired and rehired five times. He also employed 11 general managers over 30 years. He was equally famous for pursuing high-priced free agents and then feuding with them. In July 1978, Billy Martin famously said of Steinbrenner and his $3 million outfielder Reggie Jackson, "The two were meant for each other. One's a born liar, and the other's convicted." The comment resulted in Martin's first departure, though officially he resigned (tearfully), before Yankees President Al Rosen could carry out Steinbrenner's dictum to fire him. And I expect Hal will start doing the same thing when the Yanks lose for multiple seasons while teams like the Red Sox, Rays, Orioles and even the Jays outplay them. That franchise is a mess.

Pitching in Seattle helps too. On the road, he's 3-3 with a 4.33 ERA. He's a product of Safeco Field.. he's a mediocre pitcher outside of Seattle.
