  1. An update on Cuban signee by the Red Sox Rusney Castillo: 1-5, 1BB, 1K in GCL. Heading to AA next..
  2. Of course, considering the rotation for next year, he'll likely be in AAA as rotation depth anyway, or in the bullpen, depending on what he does in September and in Spring Training next season.
  3. As for why Delabar didn't get a callup, it may be due to his continued control issues in AAA (5.9 BB/9IP), and he's a non-tender candidate(if he has 3 years of service time)
  4. Keep in mind roster spots will open when several players hit free agency or are DFAd as well(Rasmus, Janssen, Johnson, and likely Kottaras)
  5. Tough question to answer.. but he has little to prove in the minors, and considering he's already in AAA with dominating numbers, why not give him a chance? Waiting to add him would be OK if he were in A+/AA, but his strong numbers would've likely had him get called up sometime in 2015 anyway.
  6. No Drabek, Delabar or Rasmussen.. and the likely DFAs will be Hynes, Hague, Mastro and possibly Delabar or Drabek.
  7. Looks like Delabar and Mastro are going to be DFAd, along with Colt Hynes and Hague, based on that list. Wouldn't be surprised if Nolin or Graveman get a start down the stretch.
  8. Guess they aren't comfortable on Jimenez.. Kottaras is Canadian, BTW, and might get some shots when Dickey pitches, because he used to catch Tim Wakefield when with the Red Sox.
  9. Nice to see Pompey get the callup.. might as well, considering he's Rule 5 eligible, and Rasmus is playing himself out of Toronto with his awful offense and declining D. Wonder if he'll get a shot playing CF down the stretch considering the questions on Pillar and Gose.
  10. Neil Wagner DFAd to get another 40-man spot (Graveman?)
  11. Tigers lead 5-1 on Cleveland right now. Still keeping an eye on the TEX/KC game later.
  12. Young didn't even get out of the inning. Yanked after only retiring two batters.. injury?
  13. True, but it doesn't hurt to hope. Same thing for the Indians, Yankees and Tigers as well.
  14. Good news for the Jays and others.. Oakland leads Seattle 4-0 already, as Chris Young is getting lit up hard, including a HR to Adam Dunn. Also helps Jed Lowrie is back with the A's..
  15. No hitter for Cole Hamels + 3 relievers! Congrats to the Phillies.. and what a pathetic performance by the Braves.
  16. Would you have done the same with Sanchez, who is dominating batters in the MLB right now with a 20/3 K/BB ratio and a 0.6 WHIP, and is going to get save chances because of Janssen's struggles? And besides, it's not a bad idea for a top pitching prospect to start in the bullpen, as it allows them to help develop pitches.
  17. Near-confirmed by Sportsnet.. Daniel Norris is being called up, as expected: http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/top-prospect-norris-gets-september-call-up/
  18. OT, but it turns out the pics were leaked because of some idiot hacker: http://variety.com/2014/biz/news/jennifer-lawrence-kate-upton-ariana-grande-exposed-in-massive-nude-photo-leak-1201295180/ Verlander wasn't the only one hit.. let's just say there's going to be a major lawsuit coming.. expect Apple to get sued for their failure to completely delete these nude pics.
  19. Holland just blew a tie game, giving up a go-ahead 2B to Lonnie Chisenhall. 4-2 Indians. Oh, and it's blowing in KC too.. Tigers fans are probably worrying.. a Indians win and their lead shrinks to 2.5 games (2 out in the loss column). And the way the Indians are going, they're a team that could be a threat in the postseason if they get in with that shut down pen and Corey Kluber.
  20. That will be up to the Jays to decide. Regardless, multiple arms will be called up by Tuesday to fortify the pen, even if it's not Norris.
  21. No. JMJ is only here to help be an addition for expanded rosters. Unless he hits, he'll be non tendered after this season. Doesn't affect anything regarding Melky Cabrera.
  22. Buffalo eliminated from postseason contention due to Pawtucket's likely win and Buffalo's loss. Expect lots of callups tomorrow to meet them at the Trop when the Jays play the Rays. Rays BTW, are only calling up a C and two pitchers (Casali, Geltz, Gomes) since Durham is in the playoffs.
  23. Pretty much nailed it. I'm not even sure the A's are going to hold a playoff spot if they can't score, especially with Detroit/KC, Seattle, New York, Cleveland and even Toronto in the mix. At the rate the O's are going, the Jays may catch a break with the O's, as by the time we see them, the O's may have already clinched a playoff spot (9 games up of the Yankees.) I think Cleveland is a dangerous team too, BTW. They're a threat to the Tigers and Royals playoff chances, as they've been in Beast Mode all of August. And they may get Lindor in September.
  24. Saw the pics. This is not going to sit well with the Tigers organization. Definite NSFW.
  25. Plus, JMJ is under control until 2017, and hits left handers somewhat. He's probably being looked at for the 2015 bench.
