  1. There are better catchers than Kratz on the market. I mean, even the Royals wouldn't play Kratz, because he is no more than a backup catcher at best who can't hit.
  2. They can't even spell Tulowitzki right! And this is only for 2014.. this can change in 2015 if the Jays see the emergence of their young pitchers and Dalton Pompey. And why aren't the Rays near the bottom with the Jays and Red Sox, considering most of those "core" pieces will likely be dealt when they get expensive with no progress on a new stadium or boosting attendance. And why aren't Bautista and EE even mentioned in our "core"?
  3. Jays and White Sox out on Sandoval.. good thing! And BTW, Boston should stay away and focus on other 3B options like Headley or moving Bogaerts to 3B... this has Carl Crawford written all over it:
  4. Hopefully Jacoby can teach the Jays hitters to be more consistent..
  5. Red Sox are "all in" on Sandoval.. http://espn.go.com/boston/mlb/story/_/id/11861086/boston-red-sox-making-big-push-sign-free-agent-pablo-sandoval Despite Boston's need at 3B, this is a albatross in waiting... his numbers have been declining every year since his MVP caliber year in 2011, and he's no replacement for David Ortiz. Same warning goes for the Giants, White Sox and Blue Jays regarding him. And let's not forget his weight issues which got him benched back in 2010 during that World Series. And his defense is OK, but not exactly elite.
  6. Or Addison Russell or Arismendy Alcantara or Starlin Castro. We'll see what happens. Most likely this deal is going to happen because Desmond's not resigning after 2015, and the Nats can't afford to resign Zimmermann (who's expected to command $20M+/year in free agency), especially with huge dollars going towards core players in the future, including Strasburg and Harper and Rendon.
  7. Yankees sign OF Chris B. Young to a 1-year/$2.5M+incentives deal.
  8. And he'll be also remembered as the guy traded for A-Rod. The Rangers still wish they had taken Cano instead of him and Arias..
  9. Other examples include: Tulowitzki (Rockies), multiple players on the Yankees, Votto (Reds), Mauer (Twins), Fielder/Choo(Rangers), and others..
  10. Angels on the hunt for pitching.. they've added another pitcher: http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2014/11/angels-acquire-cesar-ramos.html Likely to be the first of many Rays trades, as the team guts their payroll with no signs of attendance or a new stadium. Ramos would've made $1.3M BTW.. but this isn't a good trade, as Sappington is basically minors filler.
  11. Cueto's still available. And BTW, forget about Cano. The Mariners are going to regret the Cano contract towards the end..
  12. Not true. All that talk was more due to a Fox Sports article: http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/just-a-bit-outside/story/boston-red-sox-cincinnati-reds-johnny-cueto-yoenis-cespedes-trade-makes-sense-for-both-110514 And BTW, it won't happen.. Reds probably don't want to take Cespedes' baggage and salary, especially considering the Reds are tapped out financially. And I imagine the Reds want Betts regardless of what the article says.. why is the US media sending out garbage like this?
  13. Wonder what'll happen to Stassi, Castro or Corporan after this trade? And the Angels get a potential real backup catcher(Conger should be starting on most teams), and some pitching depth they badly need.
  14. Ok, maybe my comments weren't great.. but this Dodgers fanbase has been waiting for a World Series for 26 years, and heck, Don Mattingly was rumored to be on the firing line this offseason.. but they chose to keep him for now. But you can imagine there will be pressure to fire him if the Dodgers start slow in 2015.
  15. Mike Morse drawing interest from Mets: http://nypost.com/2014/11/04/mets-have-san-fran-outfield-on-radar/ And you can count them out of the Melky Cabrera sweepstakes.. they won't pay a draft pick.
  16. Probably because player payroll is being cut this offseason due to the busted TV deal and aims to get down to the luxury tax. Plus, they want to improve their front office so they can help find ways to make a team more effectively than just throwing money at free agency.
  17. Yankees fans would disagree.. they're as bad as Toronto's. Dodgers fans might not want to cheer yet.. they still have a lot of work to do, with needs for a SS with HanRam leaving, and need to deal one or two of their OFs, along with decreasing payroll. How is Friedman and Zaidi going to pull a rabbit out of their hat to get those OFs dealt?
  18. Carlos Perez, a C we gave up in the Happ deal, was added to the Astros 40 man to protect him from the Rule 5. Of course, he's blocked by Castro and Stassi, along with Corporan.
  19. Gotta agree with that. Cuddyer only played 49 games this season.. either the Rockies really want him back, or they think someone will blow $15M+/year on him in free agency (Mets?)
  20. Fair enough. Still a chance we may see a Happ or Buehrle trade on the way, though, to get a 2B or OF to help our team. Happ apparently could get a lot... a number of teams are interested in him.
  21. Morrow's likely headed to a rebuilding team on a pillow deal as a starter, and McGowan is uncertain.. but I can see him returning at a reduced salary. But he can easily be replaced by any other reliever.. good chance we won't see him again.
  22. Yes, AA should be in on this guy. Lucky for the Jays(and 24 others), the Rays, Red Sox and Yankees, along with the Cubs and Rangers, won't be able to get him, as they are in the penalty with their bonus pools, and Moncada will likely get more than $300K based on scouts' projections.
  23. Estrada's not going to start unless there's a ton of injuries. As it stands, the rotation is: Dickey Buehrle Stroman Hutchison Happ AAA/bullpen(starters only): Sanchez, Norris, Nolin, Graveman, Francis, Hendriks(Francis will not likely see the rotation, as he's AAA filler.) Hendriks is a tough call.. he's out of options, though he might clear outright waivers. Of course, there's still the chance Happ is traded.. we'll see what happens.
  24. You're welcome. BTW, I have mixed feelings on the Lind/Estrada trade. But he could be a decent reliever if he's used in that role instead of a starter, likely replacing what we had with McGowan and Morrow, who didn't get their options picked up, especially considering Morrow doesn't deserve $10M and likely will end up taking a incentives deal with someone like the Padres, Astros or some other rebuilding team hoping to build his value back up. As for Lind, he was good for the Jays.. but $7.5M for a platoon player is way too much.
