I saw people saying RIP Oscar Tavares on a random MLB Instagram posting last night, and also thought it was something related to him striking out or miffing on a fly ball or something. When i did a search, I learned that he had indeed passed. Clearly the grief of his family and friends are more important than baseball, but it really does suck for baseball fans to be robbed of such a burgeoning talent. First Nick Adenhart and now Oscar. Lets hope Alcohol was not a factor as it was with Adenhart's death (killed by a drunk driver).
Secondary, i know, but its terrible news for the Cardinals from a baseball standpoint. I had recently read an article talking about him as the present and future key to the success of the franchise. They're the cardinals, so they'll probably develop another stud in quick order, but after the Allen Craig trade, etc. they had really started to hand over the reins to Oscar. Wonder if this adds another candidate out there for Melky's services.
