  1. Mike Wilner ‏@Wilnerness590 35s36 seconds ago I can confirm the report from @FAN590Walker that #Bluejays have received RH swingman Marco Estrada from #Brewers for Adam Lind. #Jays
  2. If its Estrada, and only Estrada, this is terrible.
  3. Andrew Walker ‏@FAN590Walker 2m2 minutes ago According to source: #BlueJays receive RHP Marco Estrada from #Brewers For Adam Lind
  4. Wonder if Broxton is in the deal. 9Mil would be steep though.
  5. Yankees have their new 2B!
  6. Cubs have young vets in Rizzo and Castro, which is a good start. I think what they'll do now is sign a couple of big name free agents over the next couple years, Lester, etc. to help move along the rebuilding process. They'll do what the Jays shouldve done in 2011, signing Reyes and Buehrle (or something similar) for nothing but money, instead of waiting a year, and trading our top prospects for those guys in hopes of moving along our process.
  7. No, i would never suggest dumping a player that helps the team in so many areas.
  8. Ehh. I wouldve preferred to get Kratz back rather than Hendriks.
  9. Wilner is probably creaming himself thinking that this makes the Valencia trade that much better.
  10. AA is MFING NINJA!!!! Who here saw this one coming?????????????
  11. No. I am a Blue Jays fan. This is the real season for me. April-Sept is just an exercise in determining what the team needs to do during this time.
  12. Cubs will be in the playoffs before the Blue Jays. Book it.
  13. Should've gone with "Gibbons, Hale, Leiper, and Rivera had offered to defer salary to pay for Seitzer, but he preferred the situation with the Atlanta Braves."
  14. OH god, its 6-months away and i'm already getting irked by AA talking about keeping this guy on the roster because hes out of options.
  15. Don't we already have a has been/never will be who knows how to take a walk in Dan Johnson who Gibbons didnt use?
  16. I'm pretty sure that Rogers owns rights to broadcast Blue Jays games across canada. I don't believe they have exclusive rights to show MLB games nationally. So, if BCE were to buy the Rays and relocate them to Montreal, they'd presumable own rights to broadcast Rays games across canada as well. Not 100% on this, so if you can find an article supporting that Rogers owns exclusive MLB rights nationwide, i'd love to see it.
  17. They may need a hailmary. But its not a terrible investment. 162 nights of 'free' content plus some preseason on French and English TV (RDS, TSN, TSN2) and Radio. Then the synergies with Bell/CTV branding, mobile streaming, cell phone plans, data plans, free kiosks in said new stadium.
  18. If Bell falls too far behind Rogers in terms of media and programming content, they may feel forced into paying heavily for a stadium in montreal and a stake in the Rays. I could see it happening, and probably the only way it happens. Either that, or Bell cuts bait and gives up on TSN/sells the network, since there is basically no content that Canadians care about that isn't owned by Rogers at this point.
  19. Buy tickets for when the Red Sox or Yankees come to town if you'd like to see him.
  20. What if its a Pillar/Gose Platoon?
  21. I saw people saying RIP Oscar Tavares on a random MLB Instagram posting last night, and also thought it was something related to him striking out or miffing on a fly ball or something. When i did a search, I learned that he had indeed passed. Clearly the grief of his family and friends are more important than baseball, but it really does suck for baseball fans to be robbed of such a burgeoning talent. First Nick Adenhart and now Oscar. Lets hope Alcohol was not a factor as it was with Adenhart's death (killed by a drunk driver). Secondary, i know, but its terrible news for the Cardinals from a baseball standpoint. I had recently read an article talking about him as the present and future key to the success of the franchise. They're the cardinals, so they'll probably develop another stud in quick order, but after the Allen Craig trade, etc. they had really started to hand over the reins to Oscar. Wonder if this adds another candidate out there for Melky's services.
  22. steve simmons ‏@simmonssteve 47s47 seconds ago An unconfirmed rumour at exec levels of baseball has Joe Maddon going to the Cubs.
  23. Heyman now saying hes not going to the Dodgers.
  24. Dave Martinez. He's turned down numerous managerial jobs to stay as bench coach. The Job will be his if he wants it.
