  1. He's been so good in the minors. Maybe being aggressive will get him some QS's and some wins. Apparently he was always a decent prospect.
  2. There may be some other dicks on the Toronto Blue Jays. They can't all be super nice, all of the time. Well, maybe Kawasaki when he is up.
  3. He's a big, strong guy. #pattabler
  4. Ty Cobb was a dick by all accounts. Doesn't mean he didn't help his team.
  5. Amaro has already said he won't rebuild (read, sell off), but rather he'd like to re-load. So maybe he keeps that pitching anyway.
  6. I'm actually really okay with the Lawrie/Tolleson platoon at the moment. The only issue I think this hot team has is that #5 spot. Unless we truly have found lightning in a bottle with Liam (5% chance), he will get shelled soon and b-bye. The craptastic thing is Stroman didn't look good his last AAA start. That sucked. Maybe as he stretches out he'll be that viable option in June.
  7. It wasn't as bad as some, that's for sure, but at the time I thought it was $5M/year too much. But I didn't see SP salaries sky rocketing like they have. For example, the Twins and all the middling SP they signed for millions. Crazy.
  8. Who would they want, though? GM_AA has already gone on record to say he's mostly done pillaging the farm (paraphrasing). If the Phillies swallow some of Lee's salary for example, they will want two prospects, won't they? I'd rather bring shark in for two better prospects. He's better, younger, and way cheaper.
  9. Who could have predicted that his contract might actually turn out to be an okay contract.
  10. Sooooo, at what point can I get excited without someone making a thread like this? I'm currently waiting for the other shoe to drop #stillworriedandpensive
  11. Please let me know, because I don't get it #feeldumm
  12. That looked like a video game home run. Wow. He got that one. But then, he doesn't hit many cheap ones.
  13. 10-11 wins out of that 5th slot would be nice.
  14. Tolleson is serviceable, and when there's a righty pitching against the Jays Lawrie is there. 2B is not nearly the hole it has been since we had good Aaron Hill. My fear right now is Happ gives up 11 runs in two innings to kill the streak.
  15. Totally, and again, as I've stated, he's the kind of player (I think anyway), who will just steadily improve with playing time at the MLB level
  16. For sure! If we get even a 2-year extension, I'd give up AT LEAST two top prospects. This guy is the real deal. He might be our ace. Wait! Isn't Shark a FA after this year? In the article is says he's under contract through 2015. Wuck? Please advise.
  17. I don't know, I see Gose as a good 2014 Rajai Davis with better defense. Great pinch runner, great defensive replacement late in game, etc. Bautista and Melky have not taken a lot of days off. They'll need breaks if we want them firing on all cylinders for the entire season, especially given their injury history. Plus, Rasmus appears poised to be on the DL longer than 15 days. Reports aren't great. IMO, Gose is one of those guys that will go to the next level in the bigs. He'll be stunted with more AAA playing time. Pillar could use another season. Again, just my opinions.
  18. So now, in terms of roster management when Colby comes of the DL, will it be Gose or Pillar kept as 4th outfielder? For me Gose > Pillar atm.
  19. That's exactly what I think every time I hear this. If it's a beautiful day, and another 5,000 will come out because of the weather factor, screw the closed dome. Aces learn to pitch in all sorts of environments. Ace, bwahahahahaha. Sorry. That's losing streak bitter.
  20. His performance forced their hand. If he had pitched well in Boston, he would have stayed. Good for GM_AA to cut our losses. I am 99% sure he is plucked by another team. Oh well. We have a lot of young guys just begging for a promotion. Have you noticed that our team, roster management wise, has steadily improved since day 1? Injuries to Izturis and Morrow have helped, simply by their deletion from the roster, but some of the dead wood is starting to be cut away, Stroman's had a taste and in two starts in AAA will be ready for start for the Jays, etc. I am really happy with how they have managed things. Liam's start tonight will be very interesting. If he sucks, Stroman's up in 10 days. Book it.
  21. It's exciting, but every time I get pumped the Blue Jays bash me on my kneecap like a sledge hammer. I think either the AA's sweep and were all back to being angry and bitter, or the Jays do really well and many, including me, will think with a little confidence meaningful ball in September is a very real possibility. I hope Liam throws a 5-hitter shutout. f*** the A's.
  22. I liked that combo, too. We're not horrible at catcher this year I don't think. We could have easily stuck with JPA for 2014 and been terrible. What do you think the combination of Kratz/Navarro/Thole give us for WAR at season's end?
