  1. OMG that's freaking awful.
  2. A few Orioles heading to the DL afterward wouldn't be the end of the world.
  3. I'm 4'11" - most kids could make me their bitch.
  4. Seriously? Honestly, not to beat a dead horse, but I've made harder tags playing softball, and there haven't been fights.
  5. Yep, a hard bean to the shoulder. That's s***'s bush league.
  6. That didn't seem like a hard tag at all, but it was definitely a Machado soccer dive. That would have been a good scrap.
  7. I still like when Tampa loses, though. Why, because f*** you Tampa.
  8. I thought before the season Stroman would be a bust. But everything I see now tells me that he is not just big-league ready, but I think he can continue this sort of pace all season. He's unflappable, confident, and he has such a repatiore of repeatable pitches. He seems to be confident enough to throw them at any time. And, in the Cardinals game, I don't know if it was all Navarro/staff, but he adjusted so nicely on the 2rd time through the order, changing his pitching strategy.
  9. Was that it? I don't remember him very well, I was pretty young, but I was surprised to hear he's like 4th on the Jays all-time save list, in front of Janssen IIRC. I do remember him being picked up by the Rays near the end of his career, and then when he was cut by them, he showed up at a Jays game at Rogers centre (IIRC) with a Rays jersey on, looking all crazy and talking crazy to people around him. Weird.
  10. If he's not a smart hitter, purely one-dimensional, other teams would have figured him out long before now.
  11. I agree. On paper it always looked like a good idea to put him at 2B. At least to me. The guy's defense is amazing. At 2B, he'd have twice the playing field to flash the leather, but it never worked out for various reasons. Plus, 2B has been a black hole for the Jays, so whatever offense you could squeeze out of Brett would be a vast improvement. But if Francisco didn't fall in out laps we're not having this talk at all. He's a 3B.
  12. I disagree about Morrow. Happ > Morrow. No thanks to Morrow and his 4 inning starts and every second start is a disaster. Morrow is dead to me. Move on.
  13. I was praying for 2/3. But to have Happ beat a steeply declining Verlander is like Christmas.
  14. Still can't believe Happ beat Verlander. Happ is 5-2. Holy smokes.
  15. I like Drabek in the 'pen. And I agree, Delabar is hurting or something, and will probably go DL once Santos is called up after rehab. You know watching SN yesterday, particularly the beginning of the game, I was getting really worried about Hutchinson. They were making it sound like his decreased velo plus throwing higher up than usual means he's injured, or about to be injured (tacitly implying some TJ-related issues). Maybe I read too much into it. Imagine my surprise when I was able to resume watching in the 8th to discover Hutch had put up zeroes.
  16. So, in terms of Shields, KC will probably get a 1st round draft pick when he walks after 2014. So you're saying the demand for two top prospects for his services is unreasonable? They get one just by keeping him, though. Assuming a 1st round draft pick will almost automatically become a top prospect. So, if you're KC, would you be demanding Stroman and another young arm?
  17. KC gets a 1st rounder via QO for Shields. Would any offer for the Shields rental still need to include two top prospects?
  18. So for either or, we're looking at TWO top prospects plus another TOP prospect to replace the 1st round you'd get as QO compensation. That's what I would want as a GM, plus maybe a second tier guy or two you may amount to something. There's no way the Jays have that unless they gave up Sanchez, Stroman and another top farm hand. Ouch. But then again, we'd have that solid starter for 1.5 years *and* a 1st rounder (presumably) at some point. VERY tough decision.
  19. Oh, crap, I thought he was an FA after 2014. Sorry.
  20. Hey, about good, solid pitchers like Price or Shark. Say we decide to make a trade for either one. And we lose minimum two of our top prospects. So who does that new guy replace? Happ? I don't think so. He's replace Stroman, who'd be part of the deal for sure. So, with 2/3 a season left, are Price or Shark really such a huge upgrade over Stroman? Will Stroman win ~8 more games over the rest of the season? Maybe 10? Would a Price or Shark get us 12+ wins? I don't think either pitcher gets us more than two wins. But for argument's sake, three wins over Stroman. And a better starter in the playoffs I guess. I don't know. It's a tough decision, obviously that's why nothing has happened yet.
  21. I'd rather have Shark, given the fact he's under control through 2015 and not a FA after 2014. We could at least get a QO offer in on Shark at the end of his "rental". Plus, if the trade backfires, we won't have our noses rubbed in it the million times we have to face Tampa every year.
  22. Billy Koch had a straight 100 mph fastball that was effective for a while.
  23. Rape is always the keystone of good humour.
  24. Tiny little fingers lol you make him sound like he's Peter Dinklage sized.
