  1. Man, a couple series wins in a row would be soooooo fantastic. I hope to god E5 is okay to play after the 15 day stint. Lawrie must be close.
  2. But I'm thinking we might get him for 2-3 years with an AAV way less than that...and what if he heats up in August and goes white hot. Could mean millions more in any negotiation. Dunno, just thinking aloud.
  3. That was a good day. It's always exciting to see a young guy come up and mash right off the hop. I was thinking, we finally have some luck with a prospect. And all I ever wanted was a guy with a .250 average who could mash 20+ homers and play average defence, and I thought we had YEARS of that with JPA. So wrong. So sad.
  4. Back to Melky, and the fact that he's gone cold as mentioned above, maybe THIS is the best time ever to negotiate a new contract...
  5. Well then. You win.
  6. I'd trade him for another Cy Young knuckleballer for sure.
  7. We all thought JPA was going to be a mainstay of the Blue Jays for years to come when he first came up, especially with his initial splash. People who don't admit to that are probably lying.
  8. And he's raking, plus he has decent MLB experience. If I was Dan I'd be pissed. And for the love of gawd, demote Thole and bring up Kratz! With those two, it wouldn't be end of days crappy at least.
  9. Uggla is an ugly option, but he's be a cheap, reclamation project. And you can't argue that's not the Jay's MO.
  10. The last two injury-riddled seasons have taught this org nothing. They are still deer caught in headlights. If Rogers is handcuffing salary increases through trades, then they should sell the team to an ownership group with flexibility. If it's AA taking too much time ruminating over possible deals, and I mean just trading for Prado or Beckham, nothing flashy, then he needs to go. This team has glaring needs. The Braves wouldn't sit on their duff that's for sure. Eg, Santana. Do you think it's possible AA is waiting for Uggla to be waived? Maybe he plans on grabbing him at league minimum.
  11. Like any baseball fan, I like a good, strong hose.
  12. Exactly. It's frustrating having a $130M payroll and be forced to pick others crumbs off the floor to fortify our injury-riddled roster. Honestly, if AA cannot pull the trigger on anything we need to start selling.
  13. Not to mention I really like him as a catcher, and he's got a hose back there.
  14. I like that we're allowed to swear openly on this site. It's f***ing great. Please never change. #swearslikesailor
  15. I think if the Jays trade for Prado or Beckham for the infield it would relieve a lot of the pressures this roster has. Which infielder would you all prefer? I like Beckham more, but because it's the CWS he will probably come needing surgery.
  16. Kratz would help us for sure. He might even be able to play a decent 1B, or at least DH against lefties until EE is back. He's got pop. He'll bat .220 but he can make solid contact occasionally. More reliable that Juan for shizzle.
  17. I'd like to see GM_AA trade for Gordon Beckham to man 2B. I don't think he'd cost must and he'd give us maybe a .700 OPS with solid defense. AND he bats right.
  18. Man, the haul we could get for Bautista and Edwin. We could probably even slip Reyes in there. Hey, hypothetical, what if we traded Edwin and Joey Bats? Could we legitimately get top AAA prospects back?
  19. I think something like this is our only play. You have to think we can get healthy again in a few weeks and start scoring more than one run a name. Our starting pitching has been really, really good. Guys like Colon won't really improve things.
  20. Yep, I agree here. Keep our prospects, get this guy, and let 'er buck. If the boys get hot in August, and that is a real possibility, we have interesting ball going into the playoffs and a real chance. I don't want to throw good money after bad.
  21. Who does Colon take a spot from? Hill will cost to much, AA never makes that trade for an older 2B on decline who has poor defence. If we pick both these guys up we will lose some of our prospects that may pan out to be special.
  22. Great start by Hutch. I was getting the feeling that he was having arm troubles, but this start swept aside those doubts nicely. Now if Dickey could ever get past the 90 pitch point successfully, and Happ wasn't always good pitcher/bad pitcher we'd have a rotation.
  23. God will not help the Jays today. But pray if that makes you feel better.
