  1. Let's keep it real. You started this argument. The Hurler felt the need to prolong it. There isn't even any wiggle room on this, neither one of you stayed on topic.
  2. Its funny that he/she has a pic of Vic Rauter on this forum, but seems to have more of the demeanour/approach of Debbie.
  3. Shouldn't you be abusing the female posters calling them "****" ? I've noted that the Hurler is into it. Let's just say I'm onto the games on here.
  4. Probably about as glad as I was seeing the same running joke about "ace relievers" a few dozen times. But you know what, if some of you kids want to just keep throwing dirt around, I'm game. Hope you are perceptive enough to understand this.
  5. Wow, all I can say to you is you childish little dik. Honestly, I'd love to meet you in person and address your attitude man to man. You are not alone on here, there are numerous people on here who act like 15 year olds who think they are somehow entitled to something. But seriously, this is fantasy chat about baseball, and the sheer extent that some of you take your hobby is momentously stupid at times. Keeping it real. In no way do I give you one ounce of respect when you post this kind of crap.
  6. One year in a plan is nothing. I don't care to argue semantics ( "all out rebuild" ), but I could quote several of your posts that are definately a rebuild. I guess the reason you think they aren't a rebuild is you expect guys like Profar to be stars in 2014. I am more realistic, a guy who can't crack the line up in 2013 likely isn't going to be a star in 2014.
  7. You and FireAss have no idea how to build a winner. The best example of a team that actually followed your approach to "team building" was the last few years of the Montreal Expos. You'd have loved their approach, trade all your expensive veterans for a bunch of prospects and hope they develop. Absolutely gutted the franchise.
  8. Yes, the whole idea of tanking is a losers mentality. Really bad baseball teams tend to stay there for 4-6 years. This is not a bad team at all. The same people who predicted they were first or second this year have completely shifted their view for next year. Based on what ? A middle of the pack team which was disrupted by early injuries ( Lawrie/Reyes/Morrow ) and two key additions bombed ( Johnson/Cabrera ). If they add 2 or 3 players again this off season and get lucky on their choices they'll be a strong team next year. Sometimes I think some people on here are happier when its a bad team, and a complete rebuild would ensure they can complain for 5 more years.
  9. No surprised that someone still going to school would post this kind of opinion. Its funny actually that people think they can post all sorts of s*** about the stupidity of others, but resent when someone counters that with direct evidance that they are actually quite intelligent. And you are so WRONG about insecurities. Maybe when you are my age you will understand this. An insecure person will bow down to these kind of attacks. A secure person will defend themselves without reservation. The fact that you think you have lived life nearly enough to give me advice is kind of comical. Don't you think as a father of two young adults I don't have some insight into the world you live in now ? btw I never stated my argument was better because of this ( you did, perhaps your reading comprehension is bad or you think I forced you to post ). What I opposed was the repeated attempts of BoxCar to paint a picture that I was stupid.
  10. Uh no. I have been accused of being stupid by some moron who likely has no more then a high school education. I prefer facts to fiction. Try to guess how much of a f*** I give about what you think.
  11. This forum gets real silly doesn't it ? Several people talking about everything else but the fact that the players cheated and were caught. Its about time they clamped down on these guys, the turning point is the majority of players are now openly supportive getting PEDs out of baseball. The speculations that everyone uses PEDs, that they are trying to support the Yankees, that ARod is being unfairly persecuted, ..., its all a load of bs. These players thought they could get away with their use and through a bit of a fluke the evidance got released. Caught. Most of the players know their best solution is simply take the penalty and move on. Anyone who truly believes ARod is anything less then a career user is kidding themselves.
  12. Uh no, you popped in with an UNINFORMED opinion and demanded I back up what is in the public domain already. Not my responsibility. You throw in a few labels like "uneducated" you haven't researched either. So let's do some real research. Let us ALL know what post secondary education you have yourself, and we can all judge for ourselves how "educated" you really are. I have a BMath with Honours from the U. of Waterloo. Surprise me.
  13. Listen, you damn clown, stop being an idiot. Its been reported for weeks that these suspensions are totally acceptable under the labour agreements in place. The commissioner had free reign to suspend at his discretion because the infractions having nothing to do with testing positive for PEDs. Try reading a newspaper sometime. So he got more then 200 games. Maybe you can direct me to the clause in the labour agreement that applies genius, since you so sure of yourself.
  14. Again, I don't think so. Other more established teams have better young talent then they do. Look at their division, Washington and the Mets seem to both have young players that plenty of people like. Philadelphia and Atlanta just buy talent when they run into issues, although Philly may have issues. The future doesn't look bright for the Marlins. I'd say at least 4 years to rebuild and only if the owners don't sell off anybody else.
  15. Getting off on a technicality doesn't excuse you if you are dumb enough to re-offend later. Its the blatant, repeated disregard of the rules that puts these players in a bad spot ( plus the very public lying about it ). I think Braun got off too lightly. The biggest losers in the Braun situation are Brewers fans that are stuck with this guy being the face of their team for many years at a huge cost.
  16. I thought he tested positive back when the results didn't mean a suspension. He then admitted to use. So the possibility he used PED's when he was in Texas is 100%.
  17. Conspiring to ban a decade long drug cheat who has been habitually lying about it through two long term contracts ? I don't think so. This is ARod's responsibility alone, he made his bed and he deserves a lifetime ban if the evidance exists. In fact, when he was signing his last extension, he likely was using at that time as well. Its not hard to see that 5 or 6 posters of questionable ethics are siding with ARod's camp without even knowing the evidance.
  18. I didn't say "pitchers like Johnson don't get $14M contracts". What I likely said was they aren't worth the gamble. Big difference. I don't doubt the chances that some team like the Dodgers are willing to throw money around and hope they get lucky. I see no evidance the Jays are comfortable with a $200M budget yet.
  19. Which AL East team made a trade you liked ? You are seriously contradicting yourself because they were all trying to add veteran help and you've been telling the Jays to do the OPPOSITE for months.
  20. Of course you would; you aren't exactly the brightest bulb on here.
  21. The worst thing the Jays could ever do is listen to you, dumbass. Who gives a s*** about his trade value, he's a value on the field and under a nice contract for several years. I don't care what he's worth when the deal expires. If Bautista is "declining and old" well please bring it on I want more of these guys.
  22. Oh, BS. Seriously, get a grip. He's an all star with 35 HR / 100 RBI production. Decent right fielder too with more defensive flexibility then most. "Declining" isn't the correct term for someone who simply failed to maintain MVP level production.
  23. As much as I feel the front office should have made some moves during this season, it's less annoying then the absurd trade ideas and general level of whining on this forum. What I've seen so far is compared to most seasons, the "buyers" are kind of ripping off the "sellers" in most of the trades. So it could be that AA hasn't made moves because he's facing a strange trading market. What I would criticize AA on is not moving redundancies and expiring contracts that cannot help them in 2014. If he did indeed get rid of Cabrera, to me its like the Bargniani trade a really good "addition by subtraction" move. And there are teams like Texas that are desperate for hitting help and maybe if the price is too high on better guys they are willing to take on some salary ( plus maybe a moderate prospect ) to get Cabrera.
  24. All four players were already established stars.
  25. Buddy, the small sample size also reflects on the fact he is unproven. You spend a ridiculous amount of energy based on the premise that every prospect will fulfill their promise as forecasted by you. Eric Hinske of the Jays was rookie of the year one year, with solid power numbers. He did NOT become a star. He actually became a bench player on good teams. I could list many more top prospects that bombed over the years.
