  1. Hmm...maybe...but I find this hard to believe. He is still kind of dough boy like up top. His arms don't look like Spencer Strider's legs.
  2. Fair. I doubt we will sell anything either. This a year to contend.
  3. Just watched the highlights of the Reds 11-10 W over ATL last night. Man is it good to see Votto back and raking! The old and the new working there in CINN right now.
  4. Agree. They won't. I think expect the unexpected though. 5 teams on the outside looking in for the last wild card within 4 games of each other. Jays are 1/5, and I wouldn't sleep on SEA with Teo starting to heat up hitting his 14th last night. Even if they get in, a quick and then quick/painful exit like 20 and 22 respectively will result in a lot of changes I think. Any way you slice it we need to get on a sustained roll over 20 games asap. Starting today hopefully.
  5. Bassitt talking about pitch-com tonight? Didn’t he throw 20 something scoreless innings in May the same he started tonight? Hard to fathom this conversation even exists half way through the season. He has been ok overall, and at times great, but it’s going to feel like a long 3/63.
  6. Baseball. A flare drops. A bullet right into a mitt.
  7. Well that makes bottom 9 interesting. You hangy he bangy.
  8. Just scrolled through this thread first time in a couple days - man do the Jays need to go on a roll to lighten up the mood in this place. Its become Twitter. Nothing builds chemistry on the TBJMB like a Jays roll!
  9. Just catching up on PVR. What a clutch DP Mayza and Vlad staying on the bag. That could have ended badly.
  10. The games lately have brought out the shittiest takes ever - hire Mattingly. Bring back the HR jacket - We miss the Barrio antics - Let’s bunt more - Hit Whit lead off - trade Vlad etc etc etc Bottom line is until the players actually produce closer to their projections it’s just going to look like this.
  11. "Its early" "Vlad hit a GB today 115, with an expected BA of .999" "Manoah is coming back" "Our Pythagorean theorem record is wowzers" "RISP numbers will normalize and this O will take off" "Only takes a hot month or two from Vlad and Chappy to turn it around" "We had the same record in 2015 at this time and look at the roll we went on" "You only need to make it into the Show, and now theres even an extra WC spot" Sorry...had to get that out. A lot of those things are true but we are in the dark times. Winter has come. Still half a season+ so hope springs eternal! Ill be watchin'
  12. By mental or calendar years?
  13. Very sad. One would think he could just be grateful in the knowledge you were one of the most clutch all time bats in history when it mattered most. I was out for dinner with friends on a trip in Scottsdale and had to leave table to watch one of those games on a TV in the restaurant. I'll never forget Nelson Cruz just missing that catch for TEX. Weren't the Cards down to their last strike in the WS like 6 times? Mental health challenges and depression are brutal, and affect people you might never expect.
  14. It’s baseball. Dark s*** can happen. Injuries etc. dude got PH for the other night with Kirky lol.
  15. The LGJ and Varsho WAR convergence continues as Varsho hot and LGJ not. LGJ 1.3 and Varsho 1.1. Hurl might win that early kicker on the bet after all.
  16. We could have lost 85 games and Wilner would still be slagging callers who complain no nothings as there is “lots of season left” and “seasons have ups and downs”. He is so annoying.
  17. I was going to but had to take my daughter to a brutal new Pixar movie - Element. Watching game on phone here in between naps and raging over Jays.
  18. Jrod has been worth 1.8 WAR so far given other value he adds. 3 times Vlads. The issue with Vlad is 1B - he needs to rake. But you are right Jrod isn't hitting well yet, and this highlights some of the risk in long term expensive signings of young players.
  19. Honestly how do you even value Vlad for a trade on either end now? Aside from '21 his 1B overall production is mediocre. As of right now he is the 17th best 1B in MLB. 17th Wrap your head around that for a minute.
  20. Thats a harsh take Jonn given his age, ceiling and some of the deals given out the last couple years. But we don't have to jump off a bridge just because others did. Having said with his underlying numbers, I'd take a risk on 5/100M RFN. But he would never take that....even now. He will wait for '26 FA process.
  21. I just bought tickets to head to Toronto from Calgary with my son and bro for the Jose level of excellence weekend. I am half thinking of cancelling. But I won’t lol.
  22. Lol. I know. That was depressing. Feeling of overwhelming impending doom.
  23. 100%. But that’s a big big issue. So is using Yimi over sit down innings. 87 centre cut to LHH.
  24. Nice Vlad. No DP Kirky
  25. I get it. 13th in runs/game.
