  1. No doubt. Some GMs love to buy high even when it is certain that that level of performance cannot be maintained. With Gomez talk, heard anything on Saunders. Done for yr?
  2. maybe. Got any report on that you can share? http://fantasynews.cbssports.com/fantasybaseball/update/25230240/blue-jays-of-michael-saunders-still-not-close-to-returning ok..then let Pillar play every day in LF.
  3. Pillar has been very good but that guy in TB has been THE best. We are .500 and in a race and our OF depth and D is one the reasons we cant break through. Cant worry about Pillar's ego. We are already too worried about Reye's psyche. Move Pillar to left and give Saunders some ABs against RHP when he comes back.
  4. Love the guy but Edwin is having a tough year. K ratio way up and rarely lays off or gets to the ball away. It may just be nagging injuries but he looks like he is on the down. With his lack of D capability I hate to say it but the value for him is not going to be great, even if he didn't 10-5 veto a deal.
  5. Absolutely agree with this. Any prevailing notion that he automatically will correct deep command issues as a reliever is taking a giant leap of faith with little basis for that assumption.
  6. Bats such as Lind and Edwin who can play 1st poorly or DH have seen their market soften. Deals for N Cruz and Melky coming off PEDS and other discounts with guys coming off injury have been available. There are ways to add to offense from outside that don't cost large long term money. Takes creativity and a bit of luck. Its harder and more costly to add pitching.
  7. Man, we get your never ending thesis that the Rays are soon to suffer the Expos fate etc. The Archer contract is a f***ing steal. If anything is affordable that is....unless he pulls a Romero which I highly doubt. Meanwhile back at the ranch we sit packed up with them in a pennant race with the Yankees continuing to put up W's
  8. Um...we have some bigger and more pressing issues than extending Estrada right now lol
  9. Not for a rental like Cueto, but if there is decent control it wouldn't surprise me. Norris continues to have command issues in Buff.
  10. A 5th SP is just that. Very few teams, if any, have a solid 1-5.
  11. Miller looking strong in return. Yesterday O's beat Price and today NYY win a close one. This division is so tight.
  12. Been a big proponent of going for it this season but that's just too steep if no control. Which is why we haven't got it done.
  13. Clearly its a sellers market and the prices are extreme.
  14. I am not dissing Osuna. Extremely impressed with him. Just giving Archer his due too.
  15. Even with yesterday you have to be happy with 2/3 against the Rays who kill us. Estrada was money. Especially beating Archer for the series win. Great job by......um....Navarro today. There...I said it.
  16. Listening to Howard rave about Osuna at 97. Archer touched 99 in his 100th pitch. That's not human when you have a breaking ball like he does.
  17. He is incredible in CF. Unbelievable D value.
  18. Are you kidding? Relievers get warm all the time and don't come in...
  19. Me too. His numbers as a reliever were better than as a SP last year and he is a fly ball pitcher which aint great in RC. Lind had value against RHP and I didn't see upside in Estrada.
  20. What a start when we really needed it against Archer. Estrada has been more than we could ask. Lindy was a loss but we needed (need) arms.
  21. Estada Ks a very tough LHH against RHP in 8th. Brilliant start.
