  1. Funnily enough Gibby seems to be a better manager since we got: An Ace Tulo Restocked pen
  2. no, but tip my cap to Colla for his hitting production. Just nowhere to put him.
  3. lol!! Who wins in "Ford off"? John Candy or Farley?
  4. nice inning men. Lovin this D. I know longer have this guttural sinking feeling on balls hit to SS or throws to 1st
  5. The combination of southern drawl and emphysema sounds from Barker makes me want to throw a brick at him.
  6. There are "nibblers" who work the corners and do well for a long time...like Mark B and others. Question is whether he will have the command to live on the corners and the ability to change speeds effectively enough.
  7. had to PVR game and just caught up. With Revere, Tulo and Smoak now on the D it is ALMOST as fun to watch as the offense. Cmon Hutch.
  8. lol. there is a reason why Barker didn't stick.
  9. omg first pitch already! Cant wait. Jesus...feels like an off week and not an off day.
  10. Plan the parade!!! Its as good as in the bag.
  11. NYY get Carrasco tonight against their talented rookie. Should be a good one. Meanwhile, we have the enigmatic Hutch @home against Graveman. I say we gain a game.
  12. http://www.thescore.com/news/805959 This one? JD and Jose B changed their swing dramatically. I have not seen Lawrie willing to make significant swing adjustments since he came up on a tear in 2011. He still has a lot of arm/hand movement and can jump at the ball.
  13. Yawn. Team Ws are a collective result. MVP caliber players have been on s*** W-L teams. Travis's play and the correlation to Ws doesn't mean much if anything in this game. I pointed out Zaun comments because in this case he is wrong.
  14. Bumping my old thread from last year because it was an excruciatingly long off day and Lawrie is on his way back today. Reading the comments so far people are spot on.
  15. lol. Think I saw that Seinfeld episode. "breathtaking" Lawrie crushing 447ft HR http://www.thescore.com/news/805959
  16. "WAR...what is it good for? Absolutely nothing!" - Greg Zaun I'm old school but have learned a lot from the sabres on this Board (even though some are acerbic, arrogant, dismissive dicks at times). Stats like runs, avg, RBIs, ERA and W-L tell us little about meaningful evaluation of results. Not taking into account D is a horrendous oversight in accessing value. Zaun is wrong
  17. I think it would be classy. Lawrie was young and intense. It was exciting as hell the year he broke in but he never matched that again. I like the fire he plays with and the last couple years he seems more in control, results aside. He and Danny V were quality Jays in my books and Id give them a welcome back and then hope they both get golden sombreros.
  18. They all will to a degree but if we execute well we will be fine. Imagine what its like for them with us coming to town the way our staff is pitching and our line up is bashing.
  19. "RHP Kendall Graveman (6-7, 3.90) will start Tuesday's game at Toronto. He's 0-3 with a 6.20 ERA over his last five starts." Fear not. The boys are gonna light up this clown who helped get us the Bringer of Rain.
  20. How about the Phillies?
