  1. Im 50 too and cant believe L54 and others are so young (or Im so old). They cant even really remember our WS teams and have been living this drought without seeing what we were fortunate enough to see. This team has to do it again for them.
  2. Amen to that. I liked a few guys like MAC33, but ended up only talking with them or fighting like an idiot myself with trolls. Here I just put them on "ignore". I just gave you your first "thanks". Welcome to the Board.
  3. To be honest I tried. Im not great on a computer and when I tried to get my old handle on this board signing up, it wouldn't take. "DougAultHits2HRs" Not sure why. So I went with Big Cecil Fielder and a picture of Doug Ault took me awhile to abandon the old board but with the "Sempai"s and BJs etc of the world on there it became very lame.
  4. Fair point. its always a crap shoot on any longer term deal. Just a question of risk assessment/tolerance and the future financial implications. Martin as a 37 year old catcher will be interesting. Im not in the try to sign Price camp. I remember when AA gave Jose a 5 year deal after one breakthrough season. Lots wondered whether his magic leg kick would produce long term and it has.
  5. thought so. liked your posts. I was doug ault there.
  6. Latest Ive seen is old July 1st http://fantasynews.cbssports.com/fantasybaseball/update/25230240/blue-jays-of-michael-saunders-still-not-close-to-returning Seems incredible now how bummed I was at the time he stepped on that sprinkler head.
  7. of course. I just mentioned it because Im going to it from Calgary and all games count. Were you on old Board?
  8. That LA series we are hitting will be even more exciting now...obviously we are aren't going to keep winning every gm but I hope we execute well and avoid any prolonged losing stretches.
  9. New Poll just out in Yankee's area online newspaper. Small sample but kinda interesting: How much should the Yankees panic right now? They need to take a deep breath and count backward from 10. 42.81% (119 votes) Well, I'm totally freaking out. 35.25% (98 votes) No need to even reach for the alarm ... yet. 19.42% (54 votes) What, me worry? 2.52% (7 votes) Total Votes: 278 This is an unscientific poll designed to encourage reader discussion.
  10. This and off days really suck. Too bad. I know its very unlikely, but hoping Goins can contribute a bit more of 0 with Pillar falling off cliff at bottom of order.
  11. This is wise. We aren't even in 1st place and a lot of people seem to think its ordained. It isn't. We need to be creative using those off days and skip where it makes common sense. If anything that should motivate Hutch further. He knows he has sucked horse balls. We will need Hutch all said and done. Many wanted to DFA or flog or or pen RA who has been very good the last 12 starts. We have seen Estrada do it as well. Hutch has the stuff to turn it around and be an asset but we don't owe him starts anymore than we owed Reyes a full 9 innings @ SS when he blew on D.
  12. Maybe. doubt it. We shall see. Also I don't think a massive long term expensive deal for a 29 year old arm is in our best long term interest. Having said that we have traded away most of our future arm options so we will need to be active in FA market. The low dollar is not a help.
  13. I like leading in run differential....as long as its converting to Ws. I actually feel now with the improved D @ SS, LF and 1B (and Price) we will do just that.
  14. Yes, but he wasn't coming here with veto and Price wont sign either. We are going to have to sign mid rotation option(s) that will take 5 years or less and hope that Stro is a front end guy.
  15. Fair point. We have a hard time signing FAs or getting guys to lift veto to come. The risk on his remaining 70mm is that he can maintain performance similar to his norms through 34. Seems like he has already been around forever for some reason. I wanted him due to control but Im good with Price as a rental.
  16. Bump. Reading back though this. Glad we got Price in hindsight. Both would have taken Norris to get. Hamels had control but is aging and gave us less options financially next season.
  17. Could give a flying f***. Its like being exciting about leading run differential. Just want the W's man...over and over.
  18. It was poor decision to let him go over Colla. I hope the gods don't smite us with some bad kharma s*** in OAK.
  19. Or not. 2 was enough. What a job by the pitching staff. Sanchez so much better in the pen. I don't think its a mirage. The pitch @ 97 to K Teixeira was filthy. I hate off days but I really hate them when we are playing well and in a race. Lets hope Edwin gets back in the line up with the down time.
  20. Jose missed it in the 1st but he sure as hell didn't miss that one.
  21. Jose loving this race it seems. Rising to occasion a lot.
  22. New swing....meh...same old Goins with the stick. Lets go Marco. Another good IP.
  23. Amen! That guy pisses me off. He rakes against us.
  24. JD having an incredible year trailing Trout and Cruz for HRs. Nelson Cruz goes off PEDs (we think) and becomes a beast. Big power numbers for playing in Seattle repeating last years performance for Os
  25. LOVE me that JD opposite field pop!!! Guy is amazing
