Lack of SP depth is a big concern to me. Sanchez and/or Osuna as effective MLB SPs is no lock and even Stro has only 20 starts. Maybe Shapiro will sign J Zimmerman or like...he might sign for 5 or under if that's still in place. Oh well...f*** it....lets W the division this year and worry about 2016 later

This. Pillar was torrid in July too, but then rolled back to what he actually is as a hitter. There was all this talk about reducing his leg kick being the reason etc....like Goins tweak of leaving bat on shoulder we are discussing now. These two are quite valuable players imo but we shouldn't make them out to be more than they most likely are.

Will we see a line up this year ever of Revere-Pillar-Pompey in OF and Bautista at 1B with Edwin DHing? I cant remember if Jose was terrible at 1B or not. Has to be > than Cola and Edwin and < Smoak I would guess?

True. This off season may be a bit diff with Marco as: 1. He has pitched better than expected establishing himself as solid to mid to back end guy 2. We just sold off our farm so AA needs to replenish it...if he walks its another pick 3. Losing potentially Mark B and RA - lots of innings we need to backfill and we have struggled to sign FAs

Good thread GD. Love what he has/is doing but making any judgements based on a very hot month and walk off dinger night isn't sound. He has done a great job and Im happy to be wrong about Goins. His BB% improvement is huge. Hope he can keep it up.
