  1. That deal TB signed him to was so smart. Great arm.
  2. 23 pitches....tough inning but good job to get out of it. Pen is rested so get what you can for us Marco. Lets pound Tillman
  3. Pennington finally did something worthy of this thread of Boxys...he got himself kicked out instead of Bautista yesterday.
  4. Fear the Bird...and not talkin Orioles. Keep it in the park today Marco...please. Lets go Jays!!
  5. The big difference between Tulo and Reyes is that even with Tulo's injury history(a wash on that front with Reyes), his deal is an asset as opposed to a liability. Remains to be seen what Jays do with Tulo. He can play out the string here or be moved for value coming back. That wasn't the case with Reyes.
  6. Exactly...all cities have bandwagon fans in all sports. Some have more die hard fans than others....who gives a f***? I'm just happy to see our sellouts again. The O's hangout can f*** off and suck my cock. "The Wire" is the only good thing to come out of BALT in a long time...and Arrieta lol
  7. Im sure its in the weekly numbers but I haven't looked. I just remember he missed a lot of spring training and early on he didn't have the V....his curve was rolling as not as sharp and he wasn't hitting his spots with the FB. It wasn't that long of a period but it coincides with him losing closer role. Overall this season he has been very good and hugely reliable. The bats he misses with the curve is awesome.
  8. Gibby to me is like an old pair of slippers...comfy and get the job done keeping my feet warm. Probably could/should get a new pair of those fancy sheepskin ones, but they cost a lot and I don't really need them. Can get another good yr or two out of the old ones and it wont make too much difference one way or the other.
  9. Doing a great job. Actually enjoy his ABs now. Last couple gms on D he hasn't looked as smooth as he usually does. Travis > Goins
  10. I think a large part of the Managers job is to ensure that the players who bring the best probability of winning are on the field as much as possible. Yes we won the WS (twice) but I will never agree that you bench an 8 WAR player to bring in Joe Carter who was inferior on both D and O regardless of outcomes.
  11. It has with Arod and Tex for the NYY this season. It happens. In the case of Sandoval, he has had a couple of 5 WAR seasons but I don't think he was ever really a player worth that $.
  12. That's what I meant about his approach. He has this old school "shorten up" approach with 2 strikes and he uses the whole field with it. He is also BABIP lucky 2015 imo. 75Ks in 300 PAs for Cola.
  13. I get that..there is a part of me that loves players that just seem to lay it out there all the time, and they let $ and contracts take care of themselves. Little tougher in this case with a big game pitcher coming off major injury with medical advice.
  14. That works. I was higher on Smoak earlier in season because I thought his D was a very stabilizing force on the IF. But his numbers are on steady decline. He is a deep threat but just misses too many pitches. I hate Cola's D at 1B but he has been getting by lately. He just keeps hitting. Luck and a great approach.
  15. Its true and if I was a Mets fan Id probably be pissed off emotionally as a reaction, but its a business for the owners and the players and we would likely all put our family's security over the teams/business.
  16. lol. brilliant. every time I see his portly figure on the mound I SMH. It amazing. He has been doing this for so long and somehow still even gets this done. I mean this man was part of a big EXPOS trade...that's how long.
  17. Cito benched an 8 WAR Olerud to play Carter at 1B giving up value on both offense and D. Nothing more needs to be said about Cito. Thank God for WAMCO.
  18. lol...ya he has been struggling so mightily. Never ever thought Id see Tulo swing and miss so much. He seems to be behind in count every AB. His D makes it tolerable. Im sure he will figure it out and get it together. (soon I hope - he hit a couple balls hard today). I don't think its got anything to do with leadoff or 5th in order. He was the man in COL so he used to pressure, and here he is just supporting cast offensively
  19. He can get outs all day long and put up a barn in 12 hours.
  20. Yup...they just cant lay off that curve when he spots that FB....he has been great.
  21. Cecil has been so good. Unsung arm down there. Has enough FB and that curve workin'
  22. LOL...Ward K's per 9 was 12.2 in 93 That slider was FILTH. Sanchez has nothing like that.
  23. So true. he got it done. Still don't get why we use a guy with less than 6Ks/9 over the guy we got from the Ms to pitch the 8th. Makes no sense to me.
  24. Surprised they didn't tag up on 1B on that fly ball to Revere lol
  25. I wasn't too worried today. Last outing he couldn't get the out he needed in a similar situation to today. He wont like his BBs, but great start overall
