I think he is worth the risk on QO but picking up RA option may change that. This season is an outlier for him but even if we overpay for one year the market for SP is going to be stupid. He is insurance lie picking up a RA option. But now you are putting $27mm on table.
Except for Altuve and their SS, the Astros have a bomb, K and pitch team so I'm not suprised. They go into a 9 game homestand where they play much better.
Havent seen the last of them yet.
Good article...but I'm going to stay in my optimistic bubble. Guys play with pain in OCT all the time and have done some incredible things. A lot of the injuries we don't even hear about. Edwin is in pain on every swing and miss I'm guessing. Kirk Gibson's limp up to the plate and HR as a LAD comes to mind.
We'll know soon enough.
If he finishes his final starts well I think he will win. He battled his last 2 starts with command a bit, but between some great D and having innate ability to pitch himself out of trouble, he continues to do exactly what we got him for.
Not to be too corny but is anyone else really excited to see Stro go full circle on his comeback and take our bump in our house...to be welcomed back by our fans. I can't wait to watch him pitch us to a victory at home.
I don't think many are losing their minds. Overall we have been great since break. Losing to ATL will always be a downer and Gibby's reliance on Sanchez over Lowe/Osuna in high leverage when we need K's is a head scratcher. I said Mon I'd be thrilled with 2 of 3 and feel same now.
Drawing conclusions on his bat based on 20 games to start the year isn't very rational imo. If everyone used that logic Bradley JR wouldn't be ever picking up another bat.
Oh well. Tough one. I think Gibby's use of Sanchez tonite is legit debatable but we have scored a total of 2 runs in 2 gms. But a Yanks loss is a W for us. If we at least maintain eventually they run out of games. It will make our head to head gms remaining pretty entertaining.
Give me K's over GBs in high leverage any day. BABIP gods dictate our future on GBS. This tonight is a perfect illustration of why Lowe>Sanchez in high leverage.
It did. No lie. This past weekend. The guy said Martin wanted to play SS in the WBC and did in college so it would be a good move to get Navarro into the line up. The caller seemed like a nice guy. Sincere but clueless.
